Is anyone using the latest version of DXO Pro in their workflow, if so do you have any advice on this program and how best to incorporate it.

Thanks

Love it and can't live without it. I use it to batch process all my raw's into tiffs.

Hi Neil,

Same as Terry, I like it too. Raw's to tiff before you send it to stitch.

The only trouble, no preset modules for most of the fisheye lenses we use.

May be a lot of us should ask for this to develop the modules.

You can download a trial version.

Agreed. A superb program that has paid for itself time after time.

Still not a big issue, though, Heinz. I think the mere fact that you can set the camera body profile makes for much cleaner and less coloured results, especially when working with Nikon cameras, which I have always thought to be a little over saturated.

One hell of a program!

Yup been with DxO since version 4.0
Great program and does fix the Nikon issue that Jon speaks of. Still, I mainly use Canon now. We really need to pester them more about Fisheye support. I send a request report quite often but nothing seems to make a lot of difference. They like the others seem to look after mainstream first.

Anyway, the default settings will help people who don't understand how to process RAW files. I still head back to ACR for a lot of jobs.

So guys,

let's start another "Mail attack" to DxO to ask for fisheye lens modules the same way as we should ask Oloneo to add CA correction to the definite release of the program.

Sounds good to me. I sent the guys there some positive feedback just after I first purchased the program. It seems to me that they are very proud their product and will probably be more open to suggestion from a few crackpot panorama photographers than Oloneo seem to be.

We wait and see, however.

I have just written.

Anyone going to follow?

? for DXO users,
For wide angle zoom lenses does the program adjust according to the mm setting. My Canon 10-22 has bad CA at the wide end and not so much at the far end. Would the program adjust through out the range or just blanket adjustment per lens?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for that, i did download and thought it was really good and then discovered no module for the sigma 8mm with my Canon, sent off an email and this was the response,

Bonsoir Neil,

There is presently no module existing or planned in the near-term schedule for the Canon 5DMkII and Sigma 8mm f3.5.

Suggest that you submit this electronic form:

www.dxo.com/intl/photo/support/modules/availabili...

which we use as input to the planning and scheduling of camera/lens support additions.

I have done as they asked and submitted a request, as you say perhaps all the user of this should do the same as they say they are trying to add more modules in volume.

Seems a great program albeit very costly.

Thanks neil

Thanks for that link. I chimed in with my request for a 450D and 8MM Sigma too.

@TTurner,

I just checked DxO for canon modules. There is a module for canon 7D with 10-22 lens but not for a 5D MKII for example.

I believe cause there are not too many questions for modules with lenses used for panos, they did not set up theses modules for different camera bodies.

May be we should send a lot of emails.

"Hello to DxO management,

I am using my camera body lens combinations to shoot panoramas. Checking body lens modules list, I recognized a lack of special lenses/fisheye lenses used for panos.

These are the lenses we would like to ask modules for: Nikkor 10.5/f2.8, Nikkor 16mm/f2,8, Sigma 8mm/f3.5, Samyang 8mm/f3.5, Sigma 10-22mm, Tokina 10-17mm, Canon 10-22mm.

DxO is often mentioned to be a good software in different forums, but there would be a need for new modules specially used for panoramas.

A lot of us download the trial version, but without modules mentioned above, a lot of us deny to buy the software.

Would be nice to see these modules added soon for different Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax bodies.

I know this is a lot of work, but this will deliver a lot of new customers.

Kind regards.

xxx"

May be you just use this preset?

Well that is very understandable as it can not be used on a 5D.

Just had this communication from DxO:

DxO said:

It doesn't seem to me that the lenses you most frequently use, those being the Nikon 10.5 mm, Sigma 8 mm and in some cases Tokina 10 mm are being neglected or are lacking lens modules. See attached. (tactus360.com/Fisheyes_For_Panoramas_Supported__0...)

What 10000 euro camera bodies that you use these lenses lenses with do you feel are being neglected?? Canon makes a very nice "L-series" Fisheye Zoom for these that will have module coverage in about 2-months. We have not heard much about demand for the 10mm Tokina.

But it does not require require a new version release, only for enough of those that are interested to send in this electronic form to take supporting a lens seriously. Get the Panorama Photographers together and have the send DxO this very simple electronic form:

www.dxo.com/intl/photo/support/modules/availabili...

If enough of these are received, then these lenses will be supported on the cameras you want to use them on. We are releasing lens support modules now almost weekly. I'm only missing one out of a dozen that I use presently. This one hardly needs it, but the Lens Blur correction would be nice to have. Shot the attached with it from 3.5 miles away.

Just let them know that crappy lenses like this Samyang garbage doesn't have much of a chance because most everyone knows not to buy them.

Same goes for nobody buys them camera bodies. Bi-monthly throw aways, like the being replaced with new models with blinding speed micro-4/3 cameras won't have Fisheye Lens support anytime soon.
