"Loading .mov through FPP" question...

Hello everyone.
I've search a bit in this forum but couldn't find an answer to my following question.
How can we force which portion of the panorama will load first, when we decide that we want a specific view to show (panHome) while the loading process of the panorama occurs?
I'm using a equirectangular jpg image --> Pano2QTVR --> call .mov in FPP via xml.
If this is already answered, please point me the link.
Thanx in advance
Nikos

I do not think you can do it in Pano2QTVR. You can in Pano2VR create exact opening direction. Just use 3x3 or 4x4 tiling.
If you set this direction in your XML it opens with small tiles exactly at that place.
Maybe you can set direction for the full cubeface in Pano2QTVR

Hi Nikos,
With pano2qtvr at [Settings] tab you can set the opening view and the software will optimise the downloading order accordingly if Rearrange tiles is [x]
You can also download the DevalVR standalone player which has a button to save within the .mov the current view as oppening view, I think w/o optimising the order of downloading.

Sorry Dorin but DevalVR will not help with FPP.

Thanx for your fast reply Hans... I got it... there is also in Pano2QTVR (1.6.3) a Viewing Parameters area with a Spot in Quicktime button...
Wherever the viewing parameters are set, then this area starts to load first.

... and yes this option is also checked.
Thanx again

Hans, you mean FPP will ignore the openning view set in the .mov by pano2qtvr or set by DevalVr?
If so, that should be fixed in the future releases of FPP.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, this is an old known FPP bug... if PanHome is not set, then it doesn't open at the viewing parameters set by the mov file (as I remember when I've tested it a year ago)
