Bob,
It is at the same time both impressive and tragic, this is the dawning of the lament for photography.

I want. Now!
Bugger the price, I think this content-aware fill will make out lives a hell of a lot easier.
Where and to whom shall I send the cheque?

** CLUNK **
(jaw hitting the ground)
Just when I got good at removing the tripod from the Nadir shot. This takes the all the fun out of it. Can't wait to see it under real conditions.

Paul, I understand your point but don't entirely agreee.. People said the same thing when digital came on the scene.. I think if you have and apply your talents there will always be a place for photographers. The way I see it is it's better to hope on the train vs. being run over by it.

Hi Bob,
I agree that the creative possibilities that PS offers are fantastic. However, it is also true that it permits a lack of craft to be and excuse the pun - masked. This leads to laziness of technique because ....it can be fixed in PS.
I don't want to sound like an old fart because I use it everyday and love its capabilities, but I remember Adams saying that bracketing exposures was evidence of poor technique and wasteful. How far we have come!
When did you say the release date was?

it still boils down to skill.
no matter how expensive the tools are without proper knowledge of how to use them and the experience behind their use.. your still going to have poor results..
I think CS5 adds a lot to the game making certain things easier.. and im looking forward to getting a copy when it comes out.. (reminder) to bug my friend at adobe for him to send me a copy...

usually "launch" isn't the release date in adobe's speak, as we've seen at former cs'es.
most likely they will announce release date, pricing scheme and availability on 12.04.2010 and show the main features of the cs apps.

TriggerHappY, Is that GIMP Resynthesizer an Adobe PS plug-in?? I looked and nothing was said about where it is used or with which version it is compatible.
