Hello fellows!
Who is going to Tucson 2010 International Panoramic Photography Conference? And what's the difference between the IVRPA and the IAPP association?
Best regards,
Tom

I'll be there.
So will a bunch of fantastic panorama photographer / speakers. You can check them out here: tucson2010.com/speakers/ with more to come.
The IVRPA (International VR Photography Association) is more digital/stitching/VR/interactive whereas the IAPP (International Association of Panoramic Photographers) is generally more old school. Panoramic prints, large format pano cameras, film etc. There is plenty of overlap between both associations, particularly as 'old school' people convert to digital/stitching technology.
(Please Note: I'm not saying 'old school' is bad, it's actually very cool, but it is different to the latest panorama generation methods)
Thanks,
Aaron Spence panedia.com
Disclaimer: I am on the IVRPA Board and had a brilliant time with IAPP members at the Albuquerque conference last October. Here's proof: panedia.biz/vst/vtmap.swf?map=pqbqlpdz

Tom, I believe we'll be publishing a partial list of attendees on the tucson2010.com website sometime soon. The purpose of the list is to allow us (attendees) to check out the work/websites of others who'll be there with us.
A LOT of rooms have already been booked for the conference at the Tucson Hilton where the event is being held, while registration for the actual conference only opened a few days ago.
Thanks,
Aaron Spence panedia.com

Can we get one of these going here in Oz?
I would love to attend. However, with flights alone costing around A$1500- it is a little prohibitive.
Is there any plan to video some of the key speakers? It would be great to hear what they have to say.
Enjoy, and we look forward to the feedback from those who attend.
Regards,
Morten

Morten,
I've said to the IVRPA Board we should have a conference in Australia Problem is there's hardly any pano shooters here, and everyone would have to pay big $$$ to travel internationally.
Do you think we'd get more than 10-15 participants from here in Oz?
There's some talk about video... but no word at this stage. Shooting a 3 day conference is a huge job, let alone post production, if it's to be done well. I know video was done professionally at the Berkeley conference in 2007, AFAIK the resulting sales added up to next to nothing, making it a significant waste of time & money.
Thanks,

I'll be there for sure as vendor, sponsor and attendee. And we could see up to 6-8 of our reps, resellers, and distributors as well attending all 4 days. Should be very informative and educational. And we'll be giving away really cool stuff and unveiling something new Looking forward to meeting and networking with others in the industry. Cheers Bill

Might this be an alternative approach to recording sessions?: www.quindi.com/

I'm from Brazil and I really wanna go to enjoy and meet lots of other pano photographers. I have some language barriers. I can read pretty good in english but speaking and listening is hard for me. That's the only thing that makes me doubt attending the conference. If the conference will give everybody some printed material, or let us record all the sessions (for private use, of course) I definitely will go. If not, it will be too expensive for me to go all the way from Brazil and not understand the speakers.
It would be nice if the conference organized to sell printed, video material or afterwards could send pdf by email. This way I would feel more comfortable investing on the trip and knowing that later I could read or watch the speakers again as many times I would need to fully understand them...
Hope this turns out positive,
Best regards, and hope to meet you guys in Tucson!

Will anyone have a shaved Tokina 10-17mm FE Canon mount lens at the conference? I'd like to test one out.
Most lens rental shop frown on you shaving their lenses.
