Chestvest for wear a little notebook in front

Hi, any suggestions for a way to wear the little notebook in front?

something like these but not exactly www.newswear.com/chestvests.htm

I mean the notebook is MSI Wind 260 x 180 x 19 mm, 1.200 kg with its extended battery.
I want to be abble to
open the lid and take a look if needed on what's is going on when I'm in live tramission of the panos.
So the notebook must be in landscape position with the LCD in front and touchpad up and after I open the lid to be able to see the LCD.
An USB cable is connected to the camera.

I guess I can design some custom bag but if already there is one, is good to know.

thanks,
Dorin

Hi Dorin

Does it have to be a vest? I have seen tripods with some gizmo where you can place a laptop. PErhaps that could be an alternative solution?

I have thought about something similar many times....

I know that Trausti uses a nokia mobile to control his sep up. Maybe that could work as well?

Thanks Judy, seems to be good if it can be easy carried, with lid closed, as I don't need to work on the notebook but only to "fix" things when, and if, they happen.

There were events with no need for intervention at all, but one time the 3G signal was not available (become lost) so I need to fix that, reconnect the modem and find a position where is signal and such, other time the USB cable was acidentally pulled off when the camera was transferring the photos and EOS utilities goes very bad on such events, was even need to reboot.

Besides such unwanted events, it may need to do some simple tasks say for the "live" feel, due to lack in predicting the future, say the pano1 is on-line and pano2,3,4, are in queue, then happen that pano5 is more interesting for a live audience but is delayed with 30 minutes because the queue so is need to upgrade the priority of pano5 to jump in queue, later, the pano2,3,4 will have their entries after those with high priority are processed, and stuff like that..

I wearing a headset and the software talk with me, and so I know that everything is ok, when it said is not or simply become quiet then is need to open the lid and see what happened.

It seems that something like phone belt but bigger will be more appropriate..

thanks again, I really appreciate your help.

Hi Dorin,

how about using single-eye virtual reality goggles?

As long as you don't need to operate the netbooks keyboard it should work very nicely.

Hi Ken, I need more like notebook belt holster or such, not for camera, but is very good to have that one for camera too if I need to operate the notebook, as it frees my hands and I can put the camera in safe position.

When is need to operate, because of unwanted events, could require simple or complex intervention.

To communicate to the notebook, without oppening the lid, seems that a small numeric pad on bluetooth or usb is the best, as I can communicate with numeric codes, and receive the feedback by synthesised voice in headset
anyway this is normal behaviour and I can adjust the software for my needs.

Why I oppened this thread is for the out of scenario events, when bad things happens, one time was no 3G signal near to some poweful speakers on stage.
When those things happens it may require, say, to open a different FTP client, or even to reboot, as one time has happened.
However in couple events I started the notebook at home and without openning the bag I went to the event take the panos an come at home w/o any intervention at all as I hope will be tomorrow on this

wish me luck smile

Hi, it seems that it did work without any intervention smile , now I'm at home and except maybe the WB and the leveling at certain extent I can say that was good.
At the end was some movie projection with little light available and so required some long exposure, some people has obviously mooved and they look so.
