Sigma 8mm fisheye + Manfrotto 303SPH difficulty

Hello everybody, I just bought two toys mentioned above to start creating VRs and I'm not sure I got all the settings right. When the entrance pupil is set just above the rotating center axis, part of pano head is in the image. Is this normal or do I do anything wrong? Thank you very much for answer, I would be grateful. Jan

I think that your camera is a bit too back.
BTW, remove also the filter holder from the front of the lens, just pull it off, then handle the lens carefully to not touch the lens tip, and put it back along with the lens cap when is not used.

Dorin, thanks a lot for fast answer and advice! Even if I push the camera a bit forward, the pano head will still remain in the image. Is it wrong? I removed the filter holder for shooting and forgot it there just for reference picture... Jan

Mount the camera facing the other way, and then pull it back maybe?

Welcom to the classic mistake Your lens should be like this when using it.
So remove all plastic in front, shift the camera frontwards and go, go, go ...... Tip: put this 303 on eBay and try to get a used NN3 and use it without the grip. grtz Frank

Hi Frank and thanks for your advice! Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, I didn't shoot with plastic filter holder, it's just on reference image

Yep, but the second image you show proofs that you forgot it during shooting also..... A sig8 image on a Canon crop camera, like yours, looks like this:

HAHA, SORRY, my mistake ))))))))) In that case, skip the NN3 and go for a NN5.
Of course with about 180 degr. things left, right, under are visible, so is the 303. With a little shift frontwards and 4 around, masking the images if needed you should get a decent result.

i will just give you small advice jan, dont listen to this bunch of "professionals" just set your gear right and you can make great panos. i started with 303sph, it works, and as far as im concerned its most important when you use something the other thing is that this pano head is HEAVY but again big advanatage is that when you shoot in dark street you can use it for self defence (in this case use metal made nikon instead of plastic toy canon
