New to forum, question abt. tourweaver
Posted: 7 Jul 2009 at 21:09 GMT
Hello all. I have been reading the forum for a few months, and it has saved me a ton of time. Thanks to everyone that contributes information. I use tourweaver to produce my tours, and I like the features. However, my loading time is a good bit more that tours produced in FPP, Pano2vr, and krpano. I have bought and tried a few of these programs. I know next to nothing about html coding, though. Pano2vr is easier to use, but the tours do not look as "professional" or "branded". I use PTgui to stitch my pictures. I have played with it and gotten them to about 700-950 kbs. This is at 4000 by 2000 pixels and 75 percent quality. This picture takes about 15 seconds to load on a site produced by tourweaver, and about 5 seconds to load on a site produced by Pano2vr. Any suggetions would be greatly appreciated.

Well your loading time is actually controlled by your file size [1.5 - 2mb]; your internet server access; and internet congestion factor.

Last time I looked at Tourweaver, the software actually unilaterally recompression without your control your images which are found in the /SCENES folder.

Pano2VR does nothing about compression. Which is good because it relies on you to produce the image size and compression. It uses exactly the image you created.

Thanks for the help. My file size is on average about 800 kbs. However, the flash players load that same size file about 3 times as fast (using the same internet, congestion, and stuff). That is why I wanted to switch over to Flash players or figure out a way to make Tourweaver load the files faster. The latest version of tourwever is better, but still a good bit slower. I do not know what unilaterally recompression is. Again thank you for the suggestions.
