Panos Not Being Accepted For Slideshow

Hello everyone,
I've started collating my images for a slideshow. However, iPhoto on my mac wont accept 22 out of the 25 gathered so far. Preview, shows the photos as very small, even though they are very large. They would be RAW images. Any ideas?
