RAW processing

I've been using Photoshop's RAW processing but I'm not particularly happy with its CA capabilities so I'm looking for an alternative.
I'm looking at DXO and Capture NX2. Has anyone got any experience, comments or alternative suggestions?

Thanks for your link. The paragraph on purple fringing will be particularly useful.
As usual, it's me, not the tools.
Do you, or anyone else know of a serious textbook (like the old Ilford Manual) on RAW processing.

Have a look at Ron Bigelow's site: www.ronbigelow.com/ Quite a few articles and video tuts, which I find quite useful.

Not of much use for a Canon photographer.

I use and strongly recommend Capture NX2 if you shoot Nikon. Even though it has its problems, I feel that it gives the best rendition of NEF files. Among others, CNX2 is indeed quite good with CA removal. It removes lateral CA automatically and provides one simple but effective slider for removal of axial CA. I shoot with Nikkor 10.5 and in most cases, CNX2 gives me all I need in this department. Nikon offers 60 days trial so why don't you give it a go?
When it comes to books, I like Real Word Camera Raw by Bruce Fraser (I used Camera Raw before). Even though it is Camera Raw specific, it gives a good explanation what RAW is all about and teaches some general principles of RAW processing which are useful regardless of what processor you use. If you decide to give CNX2 a try, have a look at Jason Odell's ebook on Capture NX2 www.luminescentphoto.com/nx2guide.html

Thanks for the replies.
My vibes were to go for NX2 -until I stumbled across DXO and will now forget and the ebook seems to be just what I'm looking for.

I took a look at DXO and I have to say it is the first one which actually worked also for CA on my PPC Mac G5 dualcore 2.0. I tested Capture 1 but the version for OS 10.4.11 did not work with CA. Bibble just released a beta version but even if the browser is incredibly fast the interface for Raw conversion and the CA correction was just awfully slow.
The Canon DPP 3.2.0 I have does not at all work for CA even with the Canon 15mm. I am now downloading the last version to check.
The DXO interface is not bad but they have a lot to learn from Photoshop. Just the fact that it is grey with small grey fonts make me freeze. And the icons are awful. No other Raw Converter can reach the Camera Raw in easiness and functions. And the price of DXO $299 is more than I paid in Europe for the update of Photoshop.
