Overlap correction help pls!

Hi all, my first post here after a fair while lurking.
I was trying to experiment over the weekend taking a 360 of my daughter in the garden, but with her making multiple "appearances" in the shot.
So, I'm using a Sigma 8mm, Canon 450 and an NN3. Take 6 shots, 3 of which have Hazel in them (they all look good individually) then refer them to PTGui. The aim of course is that I get a 360 shot of the garden, and Hazel can be seen gurning at me 3 times in the shot!
However, because PTgui just lays one shot over the next, so you have the last (or is it first!) shot as the foreground and vice versa, and because 6 shots gives lots of overlap, the software is giving me pictures of half a daughter in places !
I know I could change lens and get less overlap, or take 4 shots with only 2 Hazels in but that's not the answer I'm looking for. Instead I want the 6 shots, and the 3 Hazels!
Is there some way of protecting/preserving an area of a single shot with PTGui or any other good stitching software so that I get the result I'm looking for please?
Answers greatly appreciated and keep up the good work one and all!
Mark

Using PTgui, output at layers:blended and layers then in you favorite graphic editor, over the blended pano.tif, add as separate layer pano0000.tif, pano0001.tif ... pano0005 tif and keep from each layer what you want

The trick will be to use "Alpha Channels" in Photoshop and mask/paint out areas not to be included in the stitch.
There are plenty of online tutorials about using Alpha Channel masking. Just give Google a shot! You will find it is very easy to get the results you want once you know how to use this method.

1. If you have PTGui Pro you can apply blend priority in the Image Parameters. Just increase it to for example 300 for the images with her in. And decrease the ones you do not want. You can see the result at once in the editor.
2. Create alpha channels in photoshop which excludes areas you do not want blended. Check Johns tutorial www.johnhpanos.com/alphatut.htm

Another quick solution worth trying is to use the alternative blender "Smartblend". (Download from wiki.panotools.org/SmartBlend ). This can do some intelligent routing of the seam around objects (or people). You need to let PTGui know where you installed it on Tools->Options->Plugins. For command line parameters, use: -w -MinSize 32 .

Thankyou all for your suggestions, I've not had the chance to try them yet, but I will do in the next few days. Looking forward to it!

Thanks to all again...I finally did it! Saved as a photoshop project, blended and layers. The blended pano was the background then I edited the sharp Hazels...the bits I wanted and the final result is here if you care to look...
Some very good knowledge in here and it's much appreciated. Amazing how geographically diverse my answers were too.
I'll be back
Thanks guys.
