VirtualAlbuquerque.com is 2 months in Google Top 10

After 2 months www.VirtualAlbuquerque.com is still in Google's Top 10 search results for albuquerque new mexico and still in the Top 20 search results for albuquerque nm
And most of the Locations and Events on the site are in Top 10 results of Google searchs for them
This appears to have happened as we were changing the web page Titles of the locations & events to read "A Virtual tour of" the location or event in August 2008
Unique Visits is about the same as last year for the last few months, but Pages Viewed is up almost 10% since the change in August

I just checked where www.VirtualAlbuquerque.com came up in the Google Search Results for albuquerque and was shocked to find it in the 6th position on Page One
I hadn't been checking albuquerque for a while because just a month ago a search for albuquerque didn't find my site until page seven
This is awesome!!!

Doug, if I search albuquerque in my google (.com.ar) it shows up 1st on the 7th page, and in the sponsored links on the right side.
If I switch to google.com, it's halfway page 6.

Thats weird, thats what searches for albuquerque always came up for me before; 7th page
I just tried it again and VirtualAlbuquerque.com is 7th on the First Page again

Did you maybe click on one of those new icons that google now provides with every search result? If you do that with one of the results, it gets promoted to the 1st page it seems. But only on your computer unfortunately.

when i clicked on doug's link, his site was at number 6 position
i think google search results can be affected by the searchers geographic location, being logged into google or not, time of day, phase of moon, etc
ive seen my own sites bounce from #4 - #9 over the course of a day or 2 from my own machine, i think they like to keep us guessing about what really works and what don't

I think Sam is right. On the screen cap you sent a link to, Craigs List was on the first page, but I just searched for albuquerque on Google and couldn't find Craig's List in the first 10 pages
Since people in different countries have different preferances, Google undoubtedly ranks websites according to which country the search is coming from.
Just out of curiosity try a search for albuquerque new mexico and see if my site is on the first results page like it has been for the last 2 months for me

Yep, 'Albuquerque new mexico' is nr 5 on the 1st page.
Kind of weird that google gives me different results, I just tried through a proxieserver with an ip address in the US, same result. You are on page 6. I logged out of my gmail account and tried again, still on page 6.

I just did the Google Search for albuquerque again and my site is on page 6 like you found
There must have been something going on yesterday or the day before that bumped it up temporarily.
It was in the news our state governor will become secretary of commerce for Obama, maybe a bunch of websurfers were searching albuquerque or new mexico
I'll keep checking and see if I move up for the albuquerque search again.
I'll be adding small virtual tours of 6 golf courses in the next month or so. They should increase traffic but I don't know about Google ranking. The #1 site in albuquerque, albuquerque new mexico and albuquerque nm searchs will be linking to 4 of the golf course pages; www.cabq.gov

Okay this is confusing...
A Google Search for albuquerque is finding www.VirtualAlbuquerque.com back on the First Results Page for the last 2 days and this morning. I've run the search on different computers with different ISPs and its Rank keeps moving up and down radically
Anybody care to run a Google Search for albuquerque and post the Rank/Position they find and where on the planet they're located and see if we can make this even more mysterious?

That's what I get for the last couple days with the position changing back & forth from 6th and 7th. (I'm not counting the "News Results" listing)
VirtualAlbuquerque.com must be getting some First Results Page positons because I just looked and albuquerque is the number one Search String phrase in my Webalizer traffic reports and also the the number one keyword in my Google Analytics reports.
