Does this look like a good setup mast?

I have just ordered a vehicle mast system but I was looking at this:

Too cheap? Small? Do you think it would be good enough for SLR VR?

Cheers

We need more info from you.

What gear are you putting up there (pano head, camera, lens, grips, etc)

ALL of that weight adds up. I have almost 10lbs of gear on my mast setup.. Canon 40D, Sigma 8mm fisheye, WFT-E3A wireless grip, Nodal Ninja 5, Bescor MP-360 pan/tilt head (plus the batteries and the wireless remote for the Bescor)

I have a Clark Mast on my truck, and when fully raised to 15 meters, any lean of the mast means alot of force at the end (you can put a 5 lb. weight on a 10 foot stick and hold it upright, but if you lean that stick out parallel to the ground, you won't be able to hold it)

My rig is mounted to my truck through the receiver hitch, so it's not going anywhere. And it's pneumatic so I can use a hand pump or an air compressor to raise it.

How is this mast system you're looking at raised? By hand? slide up a section, tighten the collar, raise the next section? If so, it will not be fast to raise/lower. That's the trade off with the less expensive systems.

To me it doesn't look strong enough to support the weight of a pan/tilt system plus camera when at height and being buffeted by wind.

AGNOS do poles for PAP (Pole Aerial Photography) and are made of carbon fibre or fibre glass if I recall correctly. They look more sturdy than this system and are promoted for elevated VR photography.

Hello, Kirk---spyboy---am I reading you right? Are you putting a Noal Ninja up on the top of a mast? I know it would be possible, but Ive never comeaccross this before. Mike
