my panos hit the big time
Posted: 2 Jun 2008 at 0:48 GMT
Hi all

It's time to do a little shameless self-promotion. I've been working hard over the past 5 years - developing my pano techniques (much thanks to many of you in this regard). I've been pleased to see my work turning heads in all the right directions. I've named my product iSpace tours. The 'i' stands for many things... i nspired - i nteractive - i ntriguing... you get the i dea.

Media giant, Metroland Media West Group have taken a serious interest in iSpace. So serious in fact, they've devoted a team of incredibly talented media professionals to promote it as a part of their online Real Estate package. This past Saturday morning (May 31), iSpace was launched in stunning half-page newspaper ads throughout the region where I live in Southern Ontario (close to Toronto) and in a prominent place on the Record.com.

I've provided a link to Record's official website below. Simply click it and then look for the Waterloo Region iSpace tours banner on the Right side of the page. Click on that banner and Presto! Panoramic properties like my local market has never seen before. (The virtual tour panos over here are mostly the typical shrappnel a guy with a point&shoot camera churns out through some gumball panoramic software.) I shot these tours 8 + 1 zenith and bracketed with 2 stops either way and then stitched in PtGui's HDR/Fusion mode. I'm pleased with the result.

Please click the link to see for yourself:

It's always a delight when we can harness web technology to serve up genuine, interactive i-candy.

So click away and enjoy the show!

Kind regards,

Tom

Congratulations Tom. Good to see high quality VR panoramas making it into the mainstream media. Would've loved to have seen your stuff, but this link points to a newspaper homepage where I can't see any obvious link to your work?

Nice work. And congrats on the association with The Record. It should be a big benefit to your Virtual Photography business.

Just one suggestion, you might consider including a front still photo of the homes.

Again congrats

The banner was tan, so it didn't really pop on the page, took me a bit to find it as well. Here's where it links to:

news.therecord.com/ispace

great work btw!!! as others have said, great to see high quality panos for real estate for a change (versus one shots)
