Autostitch limits me to 4 photos!

I have researched “How to…” pages and the forums at panoguide.com but cannot locate an answer to my problem using Autostitch.
I obtained my copy of Autostitch at a website called “lifehacker” at lifehacker.com/software/digital-photos/how-to-cre... .
It was in a zip file with a readme dated 12/2006 and the .exe file dated 1/17/2008. Filesize is 756,144 bytes
I have taken 9 photos of a room. I loaded them into Autostitch/images/test after removing test jpg files.
Autostitch runs very nicely but will use only four of the nine photos I took. I have changed sizes several times but the program still will not use all the photos I took. I have also re-downloaded the program from various other very legitimate sources and they all have identical files and dates.
I use PaintShop Pro 9 to view and edit my .jpg files and it is in this program that the Autostitch runs my panoramic files.
Obviously I am doing something wrong. Or does your present free program limit a panorama series to just four photos?
Thank you,
Bill Cline Winter Park, FL

Bill, I just stitched 7 images ok. It may be that in your case, it decided that there were two separate panoramas contained in the group of 9 images. I.e. it was unable to find links between two of the images. This might happen if an overlap lay across a blank white wall, say. In the free demo version, the support of multiple panoramas is disabled. The result is only a single partial panorama. Try another set of images. Further information at www.autostitch.net .

www.autostitch.net should redirect you to the site of the orig sw dev. www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
you can download the sw direct from that site. last time i used this sw (about 1yr ago) there was no such limitation. you should know tho, this amazing image processing engine is part of the core engine of autopano www.autopano.com
autopano is an amazing piece of software, and should be in everyone's libary, regardless of their level of work. i believe i've used each and every stitcher on the market to date, and still use a couple random ones for various things on occasion. but my two regulars are autopano and ptgui. autopano for the bulk stuff, and ptgui for the bigger/better stuff. it should be noted tho, that autopano can use its amazing autostitch processing engine (along with 2 other engines) to accurately find hundreds of low rms control points per image pair, and export those to ptgui.
