Do I need to upgrade my 360 pano head

I have been using a 360 precision pano head with a 1Ds2 canon camera and a 15 mm fisheye lens. I have enjoyed the combination very much.
I have recently upgraded to a 1Ds3 camera. I have tried a sample pano with the 360 pano head. I do not see any parallax errors. Does anyone know if it is necessary or worth upgrading the 360 pano head with a new arm to match the new camera?
Thank you for your help.

RichEdg If you have an Absolute and don't have any parallax errors, you're probably fine.
But depending on the scene you were shooting, having a precise No Parallax Point is not always needed to get a good stitch, like landscapes where all the objects are a fair distance from the camera.
So you should check with 360Precision and see if the No Parallax Point of the 15mm lens is positioned right on both cameras mounted on the same rotator or if another Panoramic Tripod Head is in order for the new camera.
Matt Rogers with 360Precision participates in these forums regularly, so he may pop in and answer your question here.
So how much fun is a 21 Megapixel camera?

Hi Richard,
I've replied to your email privately. Panoguide isn't really the forum so to speak to ask such questions.

Eh? Forgive the intrusion into this apparently private discussion but isn't this forum intended to air EXACTLY these sort of questions? Oddly enough I had just been looking at the 360 Precision website about two minutes before reading this thread. Which I have reread several times without understanding what the need for privacy is.

It is getting rather old having Matt try to dictate the terms of this forum. Could he tell us why this question should not be posted here?

It has nothing to do with privacy, it just takes a lot of work to monitor dozens of forums for these types of questions. When I don't answer each question I get hammered for not providing tech support. That's why have a website with an enquiry form, a google group with an email list, our own forum plus Rich had already emailed me a few hours before he posted the question here. The thing is though, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
I just don't get why you'd post on a forum like this with an upgrade question when it's easier to just ask the manufacturer and you're guaranteed an answer. If you hadn't realised, this isn't a 360Precision tech support forum so I guess I just don't get it.
Plus has anyone provided the correct answer yet ? I guess not!

There are a lot of ways to say the same thing.

Matt: when did you last take a vacation away from internet access? It might do you good! Your boorish posts may start to hurt your business and scare away customers.

Whilst appreciating Matt's comments I think that there's a certain amount of marketing value in appearing publicly responsive to people's enquiries, even when it's a nuisance. As I said previously, one minute I was reading about the products on the website - I'd certainly be interested to upgrade to a 360 Precision but right now I can't afford one - and the next I was reading an irritable response from the manufacturer. Now ask yourself; is this likely to encourage a purchase, Matt? And btw I have had my own specialised manufacturing business of a similar volume and comparable market sector so I have been on both sides of this situation.

Matt You do have a bit of a sharp edge to some of your postings, but your information is almost always helpful to me.
Just an observation, not a criticism; Couldn't you have copied and pasted the same posting on the 360Precision forum to the thread on Panoguide just as easy as the original response you left?
Hope we keep hearing from you on Panoguide.com

Yeah, that's just the way I am, people are always shocked when they meet me and realise how chilled out I am. The sharp edge has come from dealing with hundreds of estate agents over the years. Plus I'm generally quite busy so I just type what I think without any sugar coating or editing.

I could have but then I have to do the same thing on other forums I visit, plus I can't update posts on panoguide after like 3 milliseconds. This way if we change the upgrade path, prices etc then I only need to update the info in once place. I've been caught out a few times like this as different customers have different upgrade prices depending on volume etc.

I'm not going anywhere and I do try to be helpful but if others don't think so that's their right to do so.
