Curved roof

Hi! First of all sorry, because I´m sure that this was asked more then once. I checked other threads but could not find the answer to my question: Is there a way to level the roofline of this building for example? I tried "crop and perspective" as I know that that works for the vertical lines.
Thanks, Martin

Hi Martin, did you stitch with PTgui? I havent done it yet, but im sure you can assign horizontal control points to straighten the roof. gus

I forgot to mention, that I´m not trying to achieve a 360º panorama. I want a rectilinear stillimage of about 98ºx55º. Martin

You just need to change your output to rectilinear. In PTGui it is in Panorama Settings.

Thanks Hans, but actually it is set at "Rectilinear (Flat)". I understand, that the curve is natural because of the lower angle of view, but I thought that it can be levelled or flatten with a PS tool or with Ptgui. Regards, Martin

Hi, Michael! It is true, it is really a simple method, but you have to know about. Now I know and I thank you for that!!

The Photshop adjustment may well solve the problem and is expedient, but the roof line ought to be flat in your PTGui stitch since it is a rectilinear projection. All straight lines are preserved. Maybe your lens parameters are suspect, or there are some poorly assignd control points. The correct action to take would be to assign a row of t3 (line) control points along the roof and use the Panorama Tools optimizer to straighten it.

Or alternatively install this cool ruler
www.fabsoft.com/products/ruler/ruler.html
in order to see if your verticals are vertical and the horizontals are horizontal.
It's also helpful to use this with PTGUI prior to creating the panorama...

The picture looks like it's bulged a bit just right from the center. So I couldn't resist and tried photoshop's warp on in (the bulge preset), it gives this result.
I think if you de-bulge the pics seperatly you can get a good and quick result.
Maybe you should also look at ptlens ( www.epaperpress.com )it's a tool like the one mentioned earlier but a lot cheaper.
