Source images rotating spontaneorsly in PTGUI - a bug?

I'm sure that I've already posted enough gripes today, but try this one.

Suddenly, for no obvious reason, images 2, 3 and 5 appear rotated (ie rolled)by 90 deg when seen in the Project Assistant. 2 and 3 @ -90 deg, 5 @ +90 deg. In the source images tab the orientation is shown correcly. Previously, although I was experiencing great difficulty with the stitching, this has not been manifest.

The resulting stitch exhibits disorientation, like myself.

I have saved the project file at the current stage. I think this is worth looking at by someone who knows what they are looking for.

Probably all that's wrong is that the panorama needs levelling - a two minute job, usually. The orientation of the images in the Project Assistant merely reflects the orientation of the images as they appear in the output area. The Source Images tab shows the orientation of the images as opened by PTGui. These should normally all be the same orientation and they never change.

Spontaneously...
Gibberised - as am I.
The problem appears to have been that one of the levelling cp lines was out of whack sufficiently to upset everything.
Thanks John
I really am starting to feel that it's easier to butcher stuff in Photoshop than try to get accurate stitching. Two days to try to get one test panorama made is about a day and a half too much.

Accurate stitching is relatively easy once you have some reliable lens parameters. If you are using a correctly set up pano head, there is no reason to get bad stitches. If you let me have a set of images, I will create a template for you and you will see how easy it is then to stitch.

I had this problem a few times i ptgui, my pano would look all weird when i created it, i went back to the project assistant and i could see that images 3 and 5 or whatever it was was rotated 90 degress so i just went to the source images tab and again i could see they where rotated so i just deleted them and inserted them again and it worked for me.

Ive had it a few times so i think its just a glitch but im no expert i only do these for fun

Ive noticed when you click on the "rotate" button on the loading page before the image thumbnails have all loaded, it does the same. If you are rotating your images, wait for all the images to load, not just white borders, the actual thumbnail has to display.

I am one more that is having this problem on occasion with version 7 and its updates. When I select my crop circle I also select the "0" rotation option. This has diminished the number of times that the images flip but not 100%. The problem for me happens when I have deleted any off mark control points and run the optimizer. On some occasions the rotating images will be after multiple optimizations. This problem never occurred for me while using version 6 and it's updates. I employ two different camera systems depending on the type of work that I am hired for. I use a Nikon 8700 + fisheye mounted on an Agnos head and a Canon 300d with Sigma 8mm on a Manfrotto 303 SPH. The rotating of images has occurred with both systems since I upgraded to version 7 and up. This problem seems more like a bug and not operator error with more than one person having the failures. Do not know if it matters but I am working on a PC for my stitching and other photo processing applications.

Just my thoughts...

I suggest you download V7.7 and if you still have problems, file a bug report, giving the version number and operating system.
