Removing tripod shadow
Posted: 6 Mar 2008 at 19:32 GMT
Id need some pointers on how to remove the tripod and camera shadow in a pano like this one www.panoguide.com/gallery/687/

Now i know i can step out of the picture myself but how would i go about to get rid of the cameras shadow? Will it work if i just move the camera 1m to the side?

Messed up on the nadir and zenith so i did not use them, they got to weirdly exposed. also i was unable to keep my thumb of the exposure wheel while i took against the sun blush

Kim,
may be you know this "workshop":

fromparis.com/video/make_a_quicktime_vr_in_10_mnt...

There is a part - at the end- where shadows are removed.

Hope it helps you.

Ciao

snow is probably the most forgiving patching material.

you can probably clone almost all of it out, you can also lasso some similar parts and copy paste them on top burn and dodge to match the tonality.

Kim,

Not sure what your setup or stitching methods are however, this works for me.

Stitching with Panoweaver 5 with drum images produced from Canon 350D & Sigma 8mm fisheye I am able to take the spherical image and convert to cubic. After converting to cubic I am able to use PSCS3 and the healing tool to remove the shadow as well as the nadir and zenith.

I am on #16 beer of a happy hour that got a little extended but will be back on tomorrow evening with a little more clarity should no one else make sense of what I said. smile

Good luck to ya,
