360 degree video

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I just had a look at Immersive Media's demo's.(www.immersivemedia.com/) They actually create 360 degrees streaming video. It takes a while to load though: demos.immersivemedia.com/index_directorfound.php?...

Did you see how many cameras where on the sphere? I'm sure that's not cheap.

I'd love to make a helmet cam with multiple cameras around the edges. I know the quality wouldn't be that great, but it would still be fun.

I wonder how much this thing goes for.

Thanks,

There is a 360 camera called the 'Lady Bug' from www.ptgrey.com/products/ladybug2/index.asp that sells for $10K USD (hardware and software SDK)

Here is a captured segment of a 'Lady Bug' 360 movie from Spherical Panorama Inc.'s sp.zdt.ru/sp_video.php 360 movie viewer.
