Lets start a discussion...Which VT Software????

Which Virtual Tour software does the entire job…
VT Gods…I have tried many software solutions and even bought one. The virtual tour software I purchased seemed to be the best choice for what it was offering…it was not.. After smacking my head up against the wall trying to learn it, then putting together a few tours, I realized the program failed me miserably, the jerky motion, very long wait times to load and just the fact the learning curve was horrible. Pity, because the people who made the product had great ideas..the just don’t seem to execute them well..
3dVistsa and Tourweaver are two I’m trying now. They both have their plus’ and they both have their flaws.
3dVista- Very easy and user friendly…what took me 4 hours with the VT software I bought, took 40mins with 3dvista…I was impressed, it doesn’t get any easier. The skins were very customizable…a nice program…
My issues with 3dvista- 1. The viewing screen was small and I don’t think I can get it any larger…in the USA some tours are almost full screen and still have the realtor information viewable…IMPORTANT! 2. Needs maps, google maps with a link…im not certain I could do that… 3. I couldn’t save or import the skins that I made to see if it would remedy my issues…(im using the trial) 4. For some reason, and it could just be me, …the floor plan looks like an animation/cartoon.
Tourweaver- To be fair, I just downloaded the trial.. Tourweaver seems very professional and the screen gets LARGE… GREAT! As I said, this is important here…The tours that it creates look “corporate” which is also a plus.. Im concerned about what I have read about the software on the net…in a forum. I cant buy something like I did the lst time to find it doesn’t suit me, its unreliable/not stable and jerky….i need something that I can put together in minutes… and make money…
Issues- Although the screen is a bit larger, it is not big enough until you double click it…why cant we have a larger screed initially? The end user wants to see the house…not a small filmstrip… It seems a little tougher than 3Dvista to create tours…
Here is what I need in a VT- 1. Maps-links to google or MSN maps… 2. School/neighborhood info tab… 3. DOWNLOADABLE BROCHURE/FLYER WITH A PREVIEW 4. Video anyone???? Getting big here in the USA 5. Floor plans 6. Mortgage calc
I did not start this link to create havoc…I just want some opinions without starting trouble…
The “pure player” immervision I think has the right ideas with the size but lacks the information I need to put on the tour….

Hello dsulvett, I am by no means a VT God or even a pro, I will share with you what I know and use. First things first you stated the following;
"i need something that I can put together in minutes… and make money…"
If you intend to do the job correctly you will not produce a high quality VT in a few minutes. I would be willing to bet that even with some of the pros here their start to finish time is way more than minutes. Please do not take this in the wrong way, I just want you to be aware to produce a quality VT you will need more than just a piece of software that produces everything for you with the click of a button.
With that said, you need basic understandings with photography, HTML, Java, and Photoshop (if you do not have this program, get it quick)
I use the Easypano products. Panoweaver 5 has improved over the course of the past year, adding enblend technology. Tourweaver 1.3 Pro is what I use for producing my tours. There is an update to Tourweaver 3.0 that includes Flash technology, however I have yet to make this upgrade.
You have listed what you need from you VT- Most of these items are going to be done by you and not the VT software. Therfore the need for a little HTML, Java, Flash, etc. 1. Maps: save picture as and include as hyperlink on the tour page. 2. School/ neighborhood info tab: Create a link 3. Flyer: Adobe .PDF file 4. Video? Not sure what you really mean here but I'll go with Quicktime: gardengnomesoftware.com 5.Floor Plans: You can include a floor plan with sweeping radar in Tourweaver 1.3. You will also need some type of Floor Plan building software. Usually if my clients do not have a copy of the floor plan for a quick scan, I tend to stay away from them. 6. Mortgage Calc: hotscripts.com search for a .php mortgage calculator script then link to it.
Sorry if I have overwhelmed or discouraged you. I just wanted to point out some of the things that it takes to produce a quality tour. Again, I really think you are misleading yourself by thinking your VT software will produce everything by a few clicks of a mouse.
Bottom line is I would recomend Tourweaver although it not achieve all that you are looking for.
Good Luck to ya,

Good Luck to ya,
Why are floor plans always mentioned as a big stumbling block? Seems to me it's just about dirt simple.
Use MapEdit or some other cheap shareware to produce an HTML imagemap and link it to one or more HTML pages with the viewer of choice. Once you get your tools and workflow setup, you should be able to hook one up in less than an hour.
I mean, I made one using PanCyl in about two hours from start to finish and it was my first one ever.
pancyl.com/tour.htm
It's slow because I used full color floor plans. Using black and white images would speed it up. I just got bored with it because there was no technical challenge.
Total cost was the cost of MapEdit which was 10 bucks...
