Badly, I think, but maybe there was no attempt made to produce a smooth object movie.

Hi Aris
Yes this is a VR object movie.
This was done by simply taking multiple images at incremental positions. This person probably started from left to right.
Pano2QTVR can create object movies. In the "Project" tab select "Object" and choose one of the three sequences...
1 - individual images 2 - strip 3 - sequence

Hi Aris, the trick is to have a smooth transition between shoots and if is no other effect wanted, to keep the center of object centerd, as John kindly pointed out seems to not be much the case here, while the level can be maintained by using a tripod, some architectural reference can be used to have same distance from the center of that "big object", in fact is no really need to be the same distance but to have smooth variation say to become smaller or bigger in small steps, with some training, one can learn to mantain the same apparent dimension in his P&S or (D)SLR camera or some remote measure devices can be used as well (speaking of Italy like that used by Edward Norton in The Italian Job - the movie). A simply rope could be used when conditions permit.

Thank you for the replies!
Yes I saw in Pano2QTVR the Object option but it's unavailable to me because I don't have the Pano2QTVR pro. I have only the free version of Pano2QTVR
Is there another FREE software that can do this kind of stuff?
I really want to try to make a VR object movie with a beautifull artesian well in my town.
It's a nice effect... it seems like a Matrix effect, not a real one like here ( demo.fb.se/e/ikea/dreamkitchen/site/default.html ) but one that is quite nice, cheap and can be done with one digital camera.
Regards, Aris

Software from Anything 3D isn't free but I think you can download demo versions which work for 30 days prior to purchase.

Basically there are two kinds of object movies. One where the camera remains stationary and the object rotates before it on a turntable (get a lazy susan from IKEA) and the other where the camera rotates around a stationary object (like in the poor example of a statue in Rome).
Here are a few 3D objects I did just for fun a few years ago using Anything 3D.

There isn't much problems if you can put object on turntable. It's made from 72 photos, 8 frames per second. www.ormar.info/klaas/klaas2.html In shooting big objects the biggest problems appear in shooting, centering of object, measuring the steps between shoots and in lightning, if there are big differences in background. The ground also isn't in same level everywhere. Here is one unsuccesful attemt from 16 photos. There must be much more of them. web.starman.ee/ormar/test/birdy.html Both are made with Anything 3D.
