Program to bundle VTs

I am looking for a simple to use program that will allow me to bundle a virtual tour that has multiple file types into a single executable file that I can run with something like Winopen. Here's my scenario:
I have created a Tour using HTML, with Java and Q/T versions. I want to give the client a copy on CD. I don't want them to be able to just use Explorer to look at the files. I'd like an executable file that once run, would just extract the files into a Win temp folder, then run the index.html file. I realise that anyone with a bit of nouse could track the temp file but I just want to keep out the average "lookers".
Does a program exist that will do this without going thru a major learning curve?
Thanks for any input. Epoc

Hi Epoc,
I don't know whether there is such tool to bundle the existing tours, but I know Easypano has a tool called "virtual tour exe", which can build tours with spherical panoramas and generate only exe file. Quite simple to use, and if you are not using maps and other stuff, but only run panoramas, it is a good solution. By the way, it can generate files for autorun CD, after you burn the exe tour file and autoron file to CD, the CD can autorun.
Hope it helps. Klaus

Hi Klaus,
Thanks for your reply.
I guess what I am after doesn't necessarily need to apply to strictly to VTs. Is there a tool that will allow one to bundle a website into an executable file as this would do the job? Surely web designers put their sites on autorun CDs for clients? And surely they don't want their clients to be able to simply look at the files in Explorer?
Maybe I should try a few web design forums...
Thanks again E

Have you come across Pano2exe? Unfortunately, it only caters for cylindrical panos at the moment, but maybe they will develop it further if there is the demand. You can try out their trial version before committing yourself - worth it for the experience.
This is the link - change7.com/

You could theoretically use one of the portable Mozilla web browsers like portable firefox and put it on a cd set up to autrun and load your first webpage on the cdrom.
However the client would still need java or quicktime installed on their computer as I don't think there is any way to have it run from the cdrom.
I think however with flash you might be able to include the plugins preinstalled on your portable browser cdrom. Perhaps with devalvr too.
Of course I think with broadband spreading cdroms are going to slowly die for this sort of think.
In terms of just an individual panorama I did see someone put a devalvr panorama in a self extracting rar file once which when you downloaded and opened it ran your panorama which was quite neat. Though just a panorama not an entire website.
Some of the major virtual tour maker software like easypano does have output as exe files I think. Though again thats for the tour not any extra webpages I think.
Anyway some ideas for you to pursue.

I think my explanation is getting lost in translation. Lets say it like this, I have a website I'd like to distribute on CD. I have made all the links internal so it will run anywhere and doesn't need to be online.
Now I'd like to bundle all the files into a single .exe file that when run will extract all the website files into a temp directory and show the viewer the website in their default browser.
SURELY there must be something around that will do this??
Thanks again for your input. E

Sorry if i wasn't clear there are ebook creators and such which will pretty much do what you want with webpages. Do a google for something like html to ebook. BUT they will not include fancy plugins to make your panoramas work. Some of them will not even work even if your client has the plugins already installed.
However if you use a copy of firefox on your cd perhaps in kiosk mode then it will run the webpages for them and you can probably include some plugins, devalvr or flash. It will mean lots of files on the cd rather than just one exe but might actually work. Or not. Good luck.

As zxcvbmn kindly suggested DevalVr and winrar could be what you need, winrar seems to have a way to do that "unpack the files, execute and delete after execution end" You must check on winrar website how to do that, in theory you could archive any structure so using standalone DevalVR and including in your structure assure you that on Windows operated PC it will work regardless of plugin status there, consult also www.devalvr.com for scripts.

Thanks for all your input. I will indeed give winrar as it seems it may do what I want. Cheers E
