software for putting tours together
Posted: 18 Jun 2007 at 20:55 GMT
From the discussions i've read here, it seems most people like the ptgui for stitching.

what about the software that puts it together for a virtual tour? Specifically I'm looking to do real estate vt's. picture quality is most important. recommendations???

hello, skpb, there are few tour package software, such as easypano,3dvista and 360dof. easypano need java plugin, while 3dvista and 360dof use flash but speed is a little slow. they all support floorplan, music, thumbnail, etc. Easypano is featured as multiple maps and this is important.
Another solution is to outsource your panos to others, like me. We may package panos so you will not need buy software and don't need do by yourself. Just take photos and send to me, you will get final tour. smile

Hi skpb,

For real estate virtual tours, I think the best solution is Easypnao Tourweaver, which is targeting at real estate virtual tour building (I have been using tourweaver for about two years). Large pictures are supported quite well in the latest version 2.0 and full screen mode of the viewer is also a great feature. I am avaluating the trial version and thinking of purchasing it. Loot at their gallery www.easypano.com/virtual-tour-software/gallery-tw..., quite a few tours are about real estate.

Cheers,
Klaus

I've downloaded the trial version of tourweaver also but find the help not helpful. Are you getting it?

Also, how does the quality compare to quicktime? and if quicktime is better quality, what is the particular software?

Thanks, appreciate the help

Hi skpb,

"the help not helpful"- do you mean the help topics? If you have any questions, you'd better contact easypano support, instead of looking through the help topics, which is quite long and complicated.

The quality is almost the same with quicktime. If you are doing real estate virtual tours, you'll need to play panoramas as well as flat images, but quicktime can not play flat images. You can compare the quality of the tours in easypano gallery with quicktime format tours elsewhere to see which you like better. There is only java applet and video output currently, but it is said that they are developing a new version which can output flash tours as well, and it will be available by August. Can't wait to test the flash version laugh

regards,
Klaus
