Need your idea on outsource! Friend!
Posted: 3 Jun 2007 at 10:26 GMT
As a outsource service provider on panorama, I was frustrated temporarily. Sending hundreds of introductions to photographers, but no response so far.

Maybe panorama industry really DOES NOT need outsource! But I would like to find a definite conclusion! These days I have been thinking of this question and would like to hear your reasons about this topic:
Will you choose outsource? Why or why not?

These are my thoughts:
Why choose:
1.Cheap(only serveral $ stitch&retouch a pano)
2.good quality: can meet your requirements
3.fast enough: usually can finish within 24 hours, or earlier.
4.Save time: don't need waste time on stitching and retouching. May focus on other important things.

Why not:
1.There are not many panos so can finish alone.
2.Softwares are cheap.
3.Have better control on color, etc. Because sometimes people will have different ideas on a pano.(this is a photographer's idea.)

I am sure that you have your ieas on this topic. It will be great to share with us!

1-Stitching is not a big deal, because the PtGui batch stitcher is taking care of it for me.
2-Retouching, I rather doing it my self, because I have more control over it.
3-for fast cheap real estate VTours, there is no enough profit margin to pay for someone else to do the stuff for you.
4-Some companies in north America are offering your services PLUS hosting and publishing, also for competitive prices.

thanks for your ideas and I have something more to state.

1. We are located in China and the salary is cheap, so we are able to work at a lower price!
2. We found that we targeted the wrong potential clients before and now will adjust our directions.
3. We have been cooperating with several clients and have set up a basic procedure to resolve our differences.

Now I am sure that pano outsource is possible. I also will thank some friends for your wonderful suggestions!
