Where to upload my QTVR ?

I haven't got a personnal site, and i've allready reached the maximum of 5 panoramas allowed on this site, so...

...where can i upload my panos, and have them displayed, like i do with my "normal" pics at Pbase.com, but AS QTVR?

Thanks in advance for any help,
J-P.

You can upload to www.FreeFileHosting.org/pupload and direct link to the .mov file to give a no frills display. Can't do fullscreen but you can set the default size to something reasonable when you generate the .mov file. E.g. This one that I uploaded last year for temporary use is evidently still there and is 860x680.

On the offchance who do you use for your internet provider? Some of them give you some webspace for free with your account which will hold a few pages.

you need only few mega of space an then to extend via method kindly indicate by John, i.e. to keep only .html on that little webspace and having links to .mov as that example of John

which on this link should open as fullscreen
(still the .mov is at that link provided)

www.dxn.ro/fullscreenFFH.html (DevalVR)

note: the pano will be changed with one of mine but now as example i'll let so for a day or two, unless John ask me to proceed right now to modification

Dorin, Two minds think alike! I just tested an html file in my own (small) web space to see if it would display fullscreen with link to the file as in my post. It did work, as does yours.

Hello!

Here you can register a free of charge domain account:
www.dot.tk
Your name could be for example: www.pierre.tk or similar if this is already taken...
After that do a google search for "free hosting" and you will find many servers who offer free 150, 200 or even 300Mb web space.
And you know what? You can make more than one registration of this type so you will have 3Gb if you want...just put the links on your site.

All the best,
Eugen.

You could try www.panoptics.co.uk/.
Signup at www.tourguide.panoptics.co.uk/signup.php. It's been a while since I last used that service, but if I remember well, you can upload both quicktime.mov or equirectangular.jpg files, so the pano's can be seen in a wide variety of viewers. The site will also automagically detect which viewers you have installed, and choose the best one to project the pano's.

Hi, I made a sollution for those who can't afford or manage to get that little webspace.

let's say that you uploaded your mov at FFH and your link is, like in John example

vvv.freefilehosting.org/public/17634/shuttlew.mov

to show your pano you can use the following links

www.mypostcard.ro/DevalVR.html?pano=17634/shuttlew.mov

for DevalVR fullscreen with browser frame

or

www.mypostcard.ro/DevalVRfull.html?pano=17634/shu....mov

for DevalVR fullscreen with NO browser frame

or

www.mypostcard.ro/QuickTime.html?pano=17634/shutt....mov

for QuickTime fullscreen with browser frame

hope this helps,
Dorin

Hi Jean-Pierre,

There IS a way to publish your panorama's at Pbase. Check out: www.pbase.com/szw/image/69147056
So far, I only done this for DevalVR, so your are limited to PC.

The way I do that is as follows:
1. upload your equirect JPG files to a hidden gallery and note the 8 digit image numbers assigned by Pbase (you can see the in the address field in your browser)
2. upload thumbnail equirect JPG files (I use 200x100 pixels) to the gallery you want to publish
3. edit the image and fill the description area with the following:
<center>Klik en sleep de foto in het rond; gebruik het menu linksonder voor meer opties
<object classid="clsid:5D2CF9D0-113A-476B-986F-288B54571614"
codebase="www.devalvr.com/instalacion/plugin/devalocx.cab#v...,5,4,3">
<param name="src" value="www.pbase.com/szw/image/69245020/original.jpg">
<embed pluginspage="www.devalvr.com/instalacion/plugin/install.html"
src="www.pbase.com/szw/image/69245020/original.jpg"
type="application/x-devalvrx" />
</object>
</center>

4. replace the 8 digit image number in the code above TWICE with the number obtained in step 1 and press "update pictures"

There must be a way to use PTViewer in this way also, but you need to host the PTViewer.jar file somewhere outside Pbase. Maybe you can use the freefilehosting.org site for this.

Maybe this idea gives the wizards among us inspiration to develop something more comprehensive.

Henk.
