Tourweaver vs. 3DVista Show

I have been researching what packages are available for creating virtual tours for the real estate market. I have been shooting VTs for years, but have been using a companie's templates and would now like to make my own.
I am trying the testdrive versions of these two products and they seem to be virtually equal in features. Are there people out there that have used both and can offer some opinions on one package vs. the other?
In addition to displaying the panos, floor plans, and hot spots with the addition of songs or audio, both seem to be missing a built-in way to add buttons for things like:
Googlemap mortgage calculator print flyer/brochure agents other listings send to friend local schools schedule a showing download the tour property info beyond a basic description community info vt stats, i.e. traffic to the tour
I have spent more time with Show than with Tourweaver and just downloaded the new Tourweaver to try out so maybe some of these features are in Tourweaver but I just haven't found them yet.
Seems you need these products to handle the pictures/audio and you need to incorporate that info into a page that you add all the other info yourself?
Thanks,
Lew

G'day Lew,
I haven't used both so I'm afraid I can't give an accurate comparison.
What I can say is that the money I spent on 3DVista Show 2 is the best money (in all the thousands) I have spent on my business.
www.trueview.com.au/Davey/26MarySt/index.htm
This sample shows how I incorporate a Googlemap. For a mortgage calculator I think you will find it would be a one off script which you can use for every tour. Of course the same could be said for any add on. Finally, if you click on the "i" for info button you will get extra info about the 'Tour'
I believe 3DVista are about to release a significant update so it may be worth a further look then.
I look forward to some more info, samples from Tourweaver as I really haven't had time to have a good look at it recently.
I hope this helps some.
Regards,
Morten

G'day Morten,
I tried Show 1.6 and had a heck of a time with the floorplan feature. I just tried Show 2 and thought it was fine other than the limitations.
I was just wanting a button for Google map, not to have it automatically display like you have done.
I noticed the 3DVista online tour hosting offers two sections in their template that the Show product doesn't have...one is a descriptive property section and the other is the Special Options - download tour, map, create a brochure, and "Enviar correo" which I am guessing is a contact form.
Having the "special options" in the Show product would be nice.
I am just trying to figure out why they aren't answering their mail??? I have a need to deliver two luxury home tours in the next couple days and want their product but I won't buy it if they won't answer their mail.
Thanks for your feedback..
Lew

I have not tried 3DVista Show yet, their web form for the trial version isn't working for me. I do however have some experience with TourWeaver 1.3, I have two sample at: www.360-vr-tour.com/vr_tour_gallery.htm, In case anybody wants to see them. I really like the TW product but I think there having some trouble with the new 2.0 version, and as said already it's expensive, almost overpriced in my opinion! Please post back with your 3DVists Show experience, as I am looking for alternatives. Thanks, Roadkill

Lew,
I know they are flat out preparing to launch some new products. My guess is it involves some work on their web site also (as it has been down a couple of times in the last few days).
They have always responded within a very short time for me.
I agree some of those extra features would be very nice to have.
Regards,
Morten

I have been talking to a person who hosts tours with them and he says there site has been down for a couple days and there email has been as well. I have written them about six emails and have not gotten a response, but if their site is down, then I am not surprised.
Especially since a new version is coming out, I would like a discount on the "old" version or a free upgrade to the new version as is customary when buying old right before new.
Thanks for the reply!

Dear Lew, sorry for the problems that you have experienced with contacting us by email. The email software we have used in our server appareantly had a security hole that has caused us to lose conection in our servers for the last days. We have really had a hard time with that but it seems that it is solved now. In compensation for this lack of reliability we are happy to offer you a 50% discount deal in any product that you want to purchase from us. Best Regards, Jose Ruiz 3DVista

Hi Jose,
I'm interested in your products, especially the flash features.
- Can one remove/replace the 3dVista branding preloader?
- Do you have a sample in Flash we can preview that can toggle between small and full screen?
Thanks, eagle

G'day Eagle,
Here is one of my more recent jobs which includes my 'Private Branding'.
trueview.com.au/boatsonline/riviera42/index.htm
It cost me around 99 Euro.
If you click on the 'Maximise Viewer' icon you will see that the viewer currently only goes as large as the 'skin' although I believe the (soon to be released) new viewer will be true 'Fullscreen'. I hope the quality is on par with others now available.
Regards,
Morten

Thanks Morten.
Nice tour and nice layout.
I see that private branding is possible. Excellent!
Quick question though. I see that the tour images aren't smooth, i.e., the straight lines have jagged edges which are a lot more evident in a maximized screen. Is there an antialiasing feature that can smooth that out?
Thanks, eagle

Hi Eagle,
Yes, it is possible to have private branded viewers. We have been working on new flash viewers for the past months and we are close to the release date. We expect to be able to post a sample of them (with fullscreen feature included) at the end of this week or beggining of the next one. The problem with jagged lines has been corrected on this version.
Regards 3DVista Team
PS. BTW, Nice tour Morten!
