Upgrade/sidegrade/downgrade to Canon 400D?

Just an FYI.
For those of you considering adding the new Canon 400D or XTi to your toolkit, thought you might like to know what it might do for you with regards to increasing your ultimate Pano resolution. Based on my test, moving from a 6 megapixel (10D in this case) to the 10 megapixel 400D produces a 30% increase in resolution, at least when using a Nikon 10.5.
So, if you are currently using a 8 megapixel, I would expect the uplift to only be about 12.5%.
Now go out and shoot something!

But I would expect that to be the same percentage uplift regardless of lens. In this case it took the produced equirectangular image from about 4350 by 8725 to about 5700 by 11400 pixels.
