hey all.
quick question.
anyone know how these guys made the planet style pics they sell as posters?
see www.madridvirtual.com/es_iframe_tienda_planetas.h... .
i want to do this but have only seen pano2QTVR and it seems to only create the planet in mini thumbnails.
saludos, jer...

YES! we use the flexify plugin for photoshop. or you can do a similar but less quality effect using polar coordinates in photshop. www.flamingpear.com
'heres a couple we did earlier' the originals are 9000px sq

Lol thats why you wont see many of these (if any) on any of our websites, but clients love them printed big. the latest version of the flexify plugin lets you do allsorts of creative effects for panos.

If you have pano2qtvr can you not just increase the thumbnail size and make them any size you like without needing any other software?

What settings do you need to use in the flaming pear plugin to get results like that?

Firstly Resize ur image so its 1:1 size ratio, so it looks squashed. Then use the flexify plugin: Input: equirectangular Output: hyperbolic Latitude: -90 Glue: normal rest of settings to your choice.

i agree with rudders, the prints look fantastic and if the client wants to buy them, who are we to say no
yes, could be boring if we see too many of them but the same goes for most things.
hey zxcvbnm.
yes but not for print.
if you blow up the thumbnail created by pano2qtvr to as poster or even print sized image, the print would be garbage since blowing it up would pixel it out and resolution would be horrid.
for quality printing you need to filter the original image.
