I love this picture.

Its hard to say. Some color management may have been involved.

Z - sorry, I cant remember your user name as im replying to andrey and this site only give you one at a time to reply too what I find a waste of time, anyhow

I liked the skies espesially the cloudy ones in your link. Ive never thought of photographing cloudy skies before.

Andrey - what do you mean by HDR?

If I had ro replicate it. I would rent a pano film camera e.g. Widelux set it up at dusk on a stout tripod and experiment with very long exposures. Figuring on film reciprocity to do some of the color shift and if not into photoshop.

Also would need first class passage to Sydney.....

Yup the skys are nice. I'm not sure I'd always want colour like that but for rugged welsh scenery it works very well.

I pretty sure he said he used an olympus digital slr with the 7mm olympus lens and then photomatix to blend several different images of varying colour together. Its possible the olympus just produces a punchier colouring as well.

hey Oscar.

for the HDR mentioned by Audrey, here are some links...

- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging (includes a lot of external links at the bottom of the page for further reading).
- msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archi....asp

there is a tutorial at www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml.

This image is typical of those long. skinny photo pans that were all the poster rage circa 1980's. Therefore it pre dates, digital cameras, HDR and of course photoshop.

by the way, the link in my post a few up to that tutorial is bad due to the "." at the end so here it is again but valid -- www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hdr.shtml
