defish for Realviz
Posted: 1 Nov 2005 at 0:29 GMT
Helo,
I'd like to use Realviz to stitch my images, but I don't know how can I prepare (de-fish) them before stitching? So the RealViz will be able to use them.
I shoot: 6 zoom-max, cropped (drum like) images with CP5400, FC-E9. Finally, I got them sharp enough and by using the drum images I have max pixels.
Is there any way to do that with a Windows software?
Thanks,

John used a different camera and 8 image, but you should be able to use his tuto as a step by step guide. You can download a test version of PTgui for free.

You should be able to defish the images with the PTLens Photoshop plugin from www.epaperpress.com . To go with it, you might need a less restricted version of the file pano12.dll to process fisheye images (this goes in c:\windows\system32 on XP). Use V2.7.0.9 from photocreations.ca/panotools/index.html .

You can also use Panorama Tools software in the shape of the PTAdjust plugin or with one of the gui helper applictions such as PTAssembler, Hugin, PTGui, Pano Wizard. But try PTLens first as the simplest option.

You'd be better off using PTGui, it can work with fisheye images, finds control points automatically and will stitch and blend your pano. No defishing required, less work and much cheaper.
