Yet another pano app for IOS

probably the best one to come down the road yet. As far as I can tell there is no Android version.

Still not throwing away my pano gear just yet.

The sample pano is at on.bubb.li/0ack95k6flgz8ymsg/ . Chrome displays it ok, but not IE11. An impressive result, all things considered, but clearly it doesn't live up to the "seamless" claim. Good enough for display on an iPhone, I suppose.

I took a look via Chrome and it is ... well OK for rubbish. It's what I've come to expect from iPhones and what their users think is OK. At least it generally clear unlike that Ricoh Theta toy. I think the stitching errors are better to view over the grainy images I've seen from the Theta at least you know it's low budget.

I didn't check but it is likely HTML5 as it doesn't load with Opera browser.

Free APP? Or is their some charge once you want it processed?

A couple of years ago these apps did not exist. After looking at the Google Play store I see several. Given hand held and no pano head required, the results are looking very promising.

During my last road trip there were a couple of people showing me their phone panos. I helped them understand that to improve the stitching they needed to pivot the camera, not hold the camera at arms length and swing around. Believe it or not that helped with the stitching errors. As with a pano head, poor technique will yield poor results.

Take a look at some of the examples from the various apps. In the right hands the results are rather impressive given the conditions.

It will be interesting to see where this technology will be in the next couple of years. Who would have thougth you could do a spherical panorama from your cell phone?

It is time for Fanotec to look into the smart device hardware solution seriously!
Thanks Dennis for the news.
