Tone map with Photoengine has natural feel. The PTGUI pro tone map is foggy. Not sure adjust PTGUI has better result, or let the dedicated tone map software to do it.

unless the scene is very contrasty and with lots of interesting details. There is no need for HDR.
For your scene, I don't find it interesting with HDR.

You are all right. I under estimated the dynamic range of the digital film.

Stitch using 0 EV set of image, only sky around the sun washed out. Overall impression better than hdr version.
