The EXIF of a sample image from a D5200 review using the 18-55mm kit zoom at 55mm showed the same issue - no allowance for the crop factor.

Well that's extremely embarrassing blush for Nikon.

Hi!
Thanks to all for your help and making things clear to me. I´m downloading PhotoMe it can always help. Actually I prefer that it is Nikons fault and not an error from my camera. There is no new firmaware yet to download so I have to wait until then. I have downloaded the latest version of DXO and it recongizes the image as it should.
Where do I have to post this problem so Nikon reacts to solve this issue. I´ve searched the net without success to find out if others have this same problem.
Thanks again and regards.

Obtain support from your region's Nikon web site. You should find a FAQ and contact information (email, phone, webchat).

Hi Martin, you can use the way Smooth kindly suggested to patch the exif. However if you want to patch many NEFs at once, here is another way, say, for a Windows machine

download exiftool and save it in a folder, rename it acordingly to have at the end
exiftool.exe in that folder
then, with notepad create a new text file with this content

exiftool -n -overwrite_original -FocalLengthIn35mmFormat=16 *.NEF

and save it as 16mm.bat in the same folder then copy all the NEFs you want in that folder and run 16mm.bat from there.

hope it helps,
