How do I create this image?
Posted: 18 Jun 2013 at 5:32 GMT
Have a look:

plus.google.com/photos/111587983363483285529/albu...

Are these normal 3D compilations or are they actually taken from above?

A different type of camera stand long enough to take a picture from that angle?

Or is there a special program that can make this?

Check it out fellow professionals and educate the beginner. Thank you!

What is being shown here are single shots taken with a "one-shot" mirror on top of an extendable pole.

Typically a very low tech way to shoot a panorama.

What you see are the actual images coming out of the camera. All of these one shot lenses come with software that "unwraps" the image into a standard pano.

Yes, the image type taken from a "One-Shot" mirror is a reflection. It is not a lens as such. This type of image is known as a "Donut/Doughnut" because of it's shape.

These are a cheap (in image quality) relatively expensive way to create a panorama. Although have a fun aspect perhaps when recording video.

See:
www.gopano.com
www.0-360.com
www.pano-pro.com
etc.

All the manufacturers offer software that will "un-warp" the donut image for panorama display.

You will also find Sony Bloggie cameras ship with a mirror adapter and plenty are around that fit an iPhone. The smart phone versions would typically use an in phone app to un-warp and display the panorama.

Again, it is low quality and not recommended for those serious about paid panorama work. Just a bit of fun!

Thank you.
So, I can continue using the fish eye lens for the shots?

Of course! The fisheye lens will give superior images over a one-shot reflection mirror image.

Yes Heartlanding, stay with the fisheye as Smooth advises.
With the fisheye you are in control!
It is all a question of resolution.
A full circle image means you are only utilising 50% of your sensor (e.g. a 20Mp sensor only uses 10Mp).
Using your fisheye you build a higher resolution Equirectangular than your sensor (e.g. a 50Mp Equirectangular from a 24Mp sensor), but with a parabolic reflector you are by definition using a single image with 50% of your sensor wasted.
Also, the resolution of your final panorama degrades rapidly from the top to bottom.
This degradation is a gradient, but to make the maths simple think of the horizon as a dividing line then the top half uses 75% of the circle and the bottom half only 25%. (A 20Mp sensor is now reduced to 7.5Mp for the top half and only 2.5Mp for the bottom half.

I have experienced from creating new images effect with image editing tool, like Photoshop ,Imagemagick, etc. It is most likely to be shot by a camera with a 3D shot mode. But Im sure it also can be created by an image processing freeware.Im doing this job with my image creating dll.I will let you know if I work this out.And you can try by yourself.

i think what you need is a .net image application to help you. you must find some tutorial to teach you how to create an image. then it would be simple to do that.

Someone is going through a lot of effort to spam a forum that does not have very much traffic any more.
