Does anyone know how many different metal rings there?
What I mean is can one use different plastic inserts in a particular metal ring to adjust to different lenses?
For example could you use the metal ring supplied for the Canon mount Sigma 10mm FE with a different insert with the Nikon 10.5mm FE.

It is possible to change the plastic inserts. Just how many rings there are and what is interchangeable with what I can't say. I don't know of a list.
I use the Nikon 10.5mm Metal Ring on my Samyang 7.5mm fisheye.
Pretty sure Tokina 10-17mm, Sigma 8mm, Canon 50mm and Canon 8-15mm Zoom Fisheye all use the same metal ring with a plastic insert change. Wouldn't swear to it though.
There also can be differences with the ring foot position and length.

Hi Andrew,
You can only use the lens ring for different lenses in case the lenses have the same diameter. So you can not change a Sigma 8mm to Nikkor 10,5 by just changing the insert.
Nikkor 10,5mm and 16mm use the same ring but different insert.
When the side is back from maintenance I'll send the link to the list of used rings and footplates for different lenses.

Would it be possible to use the Sigma 8mm lensring on a Samyang 8mm lense?
