D800+16mm fish eye

Hey folks working with a fellow photographer on a little side project and we're havign some issues getting the settings dead on.
Does anyone shood with D800 and a 16mm fish eye? can I ask what settings you have your upper/lower arm at? We're also considering using a 20mm or a 14-24mm if nothing else works.
Shooting with D800, no grip, NN5 with RD16 rotator
greatly appreciated
thanks alex

Alex, What methods are you using to set up the NN5 and validate the settings, and what are the issues that suggest that you haven't found the correct settings? If you are simply finding stitching errors in test panoramas, then they may not necessarily be due to shortcomings in the head setup. Lack of experience with the stitching software might be a factor. It's not difficult to set up the head adequately well with the 16mm in 10 minutes or so and get excellent stitches. See:

However, a search of the Nodal Ninja forums found this thread with settings that you can try:

Hey john
we came to the same conclusion, that it was something on the software end. I've been using the NN5 and D7000 with 10.5 all summer and rarely had any stitching problems. Now all of a sudden, it can't do it anymore.
Is tried stitching old pans i shot way back and they work fine, so i'm pretty confident that it's not my version, but something I'm doing wrong.
there anything you can think that I'm screwing up off the bat?
thanks alex

we were doing a simply a shot every 60 degrees - 6 total - with the upper arm parallel to the ground.

Alex, If you care to upload a set of jpeg images somewhere, I would be happy to check if there are any stitching problems. If you don't have your own web space, upload them to a free file sharing site such as www.ge.tt .

Hi Alex I shoot with D800E and Nikon 16 mm but I use a NN lens ring for this particular lens that makes the set up very easy to assemble, with the lens directly mounted on the upper rotator. I use Novoflex rotators so my settings won't match NN rotators but it is really easy to adjust for the NPP. /Reza
