I just ordered one too. i'm in the Uk so may take a little while to arrive but will post my comments. Anyone looking at this might try checking out ebay. I found an auction for one (directly from Panosaurus so not second hand) and gor it for $68 instead of $80 or so.

I'm in Sweden and was told it should only take 4-7 business days. I can live with that. I'm planning to use Stitcher 4.0.

I purchased one of these a few weeks ago, and was kind of disappointed with it. I hope your results are different. I ended up sending it back, and was refunded.

I have a Nikon CP 5700, and it was such a pain to set up for...meaning I would have to carry a screwdriver with me to set up and take down the head on each shoot. It says it's made with PVC (which to me means the thick white plastic pipes are made of), but it looked and felt just like painted wood. It may work great with other cameras, and as I said, I hope your outcome is better than mine was.

I received my panosaurus today. I, like Nynavey, was a little disappointed, but I will be keeping mine as it does what I need at this point.

I was also expecting it to be made of a solid plastic. I quickly went to the website to find that it is actually “expanded PVC plastic.” Air must be infused into the PVC to make it much more porous, thus very lightweight. But it does have a cheap, painted MDF look to it. Only time will tell how durable it is.

It works fine with my Canon A70. I also pushed down on it to see what a heavier camera might do and the only flex I noticed was in my tripod (also a budget model).

Set-up was pretty simple, but a screwdriver is necessary to remove the camera and break the head down for storage.

All in all, you could easily make this in a home shop if you had the interest, tools, and time. I have the first two, but accepted the fact that I would make at least 5 or 6 prototypes before ever being happy with a final product. The panosaurus gives me what I need at the moment and I can use my time for taking pictures. If anything, it will give me a feel for what I like/don’t like, need/don’t need in a panorama head.

I hope this helps.

I'm not sure how long it takes to receive an international shipment directly from them. Mine was received at a US address in 3 days. I then had a family member ship it to me in Japan. So they do get shipped out as soon as they receive the order, but it will obviously depend on whether or not they ship via air, ground, or slow boat when going out of the US.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

I too received mine within 3 days, very fast shipping Stateside, indeed. I can't say for international orders either, but I would feel pretty confident in saying it was shipped 24hrs after you ordered it...the rest is in your country's postal system.

Good luck, and let us know when you do receive it, and what you think of it, please.

I have had a Panosausus for awhile now. I think it is an excellent head for a particular type of user. Anyone who is into polished metal and rocket science precision is not going to be satisfied with this head. But if you have a reasonably light digital camera and want to shoot much better quality panos than hand held this is the perfect ticket. There is a review of this head that points out most of its flaws here:

I would like for it to have worked *for me*, and my camera, because rocket science and titanium-alloy whatever doesn't particularly do anything for me except lighten my wallet...but alas, it was not what I expected. I am glad there was a good return policy in my case, and glad their newest customer is happy with it.
