PTGUI for MAC under-performing...

i've only recently moved my main programs over to my MAC, with my PC now taking a second seat in the office. I'm amazed at how PTGui under performs when stitching compared to exactly the same version number on my PC.
1 - the dispersal of control points is terrible compared to my PC version. With nearly every project i'm having to manually assign control points, compared to the PC version that would do it perfectly with only a max of 1-2mm error.
2 - Can't auto detect the lens parameters, it did it on the PC no problems. I have to manually enter 15mm and 'full frame' for it to even remotely work.
My processing before the image enters ptgui hasn't changed, anyone have any ideas why i'm getting the above problems?

Do you have the last version on both? I can not see any difference in the CP generations when I test mine with the same images on Windows / Mac Remember that CP generation depends on your setup of parameters.
Regarding the lens parameters you need of course to set up the preferences just as you have to do that in the Windows version.
And you also have to set your default way of detecting it.
BTW you should really learn how to use a template for setting up the panos. If you do not use the same template and same images on both win and mac to set up the pano you can not compare them.

I just made a test on my iMac with same set of images and using same template for setup. 8 16 bit 21 mp images form MarkII+canon 15mm Preferences was set to max 25 CP per pair
And the optimizer results before deleting worst CP

I have also checked how PTGui detects the images and it is identical.
If you use the PTgui default settings and EXIF checked you will get 15mm fisheyes detected as circular crop.
If you want to get fullframe when you drop the images on PTGui you should uncheck EXIF and set all your settings in the lensparameters . Then you choose Make default from the File menu. Now you will get all the settings you have made default each time you drop any images on PTGui.
Be aware of that circular crop for fullframe fisheyes work just as good as fullframe crop.

Thanks for reply Hans, there must be something not right between my process, although i'm not doing anything different on the MAC.
1 - Convert images using Adobe RAW to hi res tiff files once adjustments are made 2 - Load them into PTGui. 3 - Away I go
On a PC it auto detects the lens parameters without any input from me, assigns control points perfectly and stitches with no problems.
On a mac it can't seem to auto detect the lens data, even when i've selected full frame and 15mm it has a struggle stitching them.
There must be something i'm not doing, or doing differently. Version is 9.1.3

You have probably saved a Default setting from the file menu on your PC. You have of course to do the same on Mac if you want to get any lens settings.
As I said the default PTGui settings are to use Circular Crop for a 15mm so if it automatically sets it to fullframe that is something you have saved via the File Menu/Make Default.

I've just done another check with a set of images that worked a dream on default settings and auto exif checked (gave me 15mm on the readout) on the PC, on the mac for auto exif it states:
Circular fisheye 180 degrees field of view
If I go with this it distorts the images so badly when the viewer opens it up, the edges are stretched massively.
Then i have to select manually a cropped fish eye, then type in 15mm which even then doesn't always stitch them.
I know what you mean regarding a template, but after years of using PTGui i've never really needed one as it always worked a treat (as long as the head was setup properly.)

Actually Hans you'r right, i've just left auto exif checked and it has worked a treat, I must have got confused and started entering 15mm in the box and selecting full frame fish eye, which wasn't needed.
Thanks for your help, sometimes you just need someone to point out you're wrong!
