How are these "impossible" shot done?

I'm quite intrigued by these shots from
www.kultdizajn.com/

For example, the "Avala TV Tower" one. How is this possible? Octocopter with GPS tracking? Or simply a long (very long?) pole & some retouching?

I'm guessing this has to be done as a single-shot pano with a pano-pro or similar, no?

More likely FPV (First Person Viewpoint) radio camera to pilot the quadcopter, hexacopter, octocopter etc, and remote triggering of a camera. It is getting fairly common now.

I highly doubt FPV was used. It’s not required to shoot aerial panos.

Besides multirotor platforms helis are more common platforms for these aerials with GPS systems.

No it does not have to be but possible. I would guess it was done with traditional panning.

Of course sky is PSed in.

The crane was still there next to the tower at the left side of it, then clonnig was used to remove the crane along with its shadow.

On closer inspection, I can see more crane uses in his other samples:
Crane shadow clearly visible in the "sports hall arch erection".

So this means he's set up a tripod in a cage which is hanging down from the crane – or done a single-shot pano. RIght?

How about the "Rovinj" example, shot from a tower.
Standing on the very peak of the roof, single shot? The pespective looks like he's quite a bit higher than the roof.
This is the tower by the way: tinyurl.com/87aas2j

Depending of scene some techique can be suited than other, if you have the cooperation of the place owners, starting with ropes and even using a kite (when is constant wind) can be used as well, just like you see the parachute stay up and distant from shuttle when space shutle lands, that can be used on tall towers as well,

This was not the case when the crane make thinghs somehow simplier.

I contacted the photographer, and this was his response:
">> Hi Gus,

>> thanks for your interest in my work. Actually I've shot Avala TV
>> Tower form tower crane basket, form sides, handheld (without tripod)..
>> the sports hall is shot same way. As there's no object really close

>> in PS. I found that approach much better on construction sites than RC
>> helicopter, as security is huge issue there (well, I'm sure you know

I tried my best to find remnants of sloppy photoshopping to see where the crane must have been - no luck.

A remote release isn't required to take a photograph but people often use them.

I see your point.

Have you ever flown FPV? Have you shot an aerial pano via RC aircraft?
