Virtual reality panoramas together with embedded video

Hi,
After about one and a half year of hard work I am happy to introduce my last project:
www.multipla.tv/ (Check out the demo)
It is a project consisting of an innovative use of a common technique of creating virtual reality panoramas together with embedded video files.
The innovation of this solution has been achieved mainly by introducing a special way of video processing that has allowed us to obtain a proper “projection of image”. Owing to this, each film embedded in the spherical panorama becomes an integral part.
Best Regards

I have never seen vidoe and panoramas combined this way. The panoramas have some issues (blown whites, CA and such). The overall effect is stunning and seamless. I found myself wanting to stay and explore all of the panoramas. Well done.
Do you have any plans to make this technology available to the public?

Sorry but it does not work iMac 2.8 GHZ i7 16 GB Ram. Safari 5.1.1 Flash 11.1
Initial view just white page. After resizing window a frozen panorama with only sound. No way of interacting. After clicking around on different links a popup with text pops up but still no way to go further.
I also after some experimenting got the people moving ahead by scrolling the scrollbar. Very weird.

After testing it in Firefox and Chrome which work I guess you have some special Safari problems.
I have no problems like this in Safari with any of the 4 main viewers.

Dennis this is all standard technology in KRpano and also at least in part FPP. The initial fisheye projection is KRPano. I assume from the files I can see that he uses a branded KRPano.
Calling this his own tech for video in panoramas is just simply not true.

Fascinating technique and well done - but not for this application.
It doesn't add anything to the learning process. In fact, it's so good that it's a distraction.
While I'm at it: why haven't you moved on from the sort of CALL grammar/vocab exercises we were using back in the 80's? Why haven't you exploited sound? Why didn't you use someone to 'direct' the actors? Their presentation and intonation was stilted and amateurish?

Embedding distorted videos in FPP has been available since 2007. Here is Denis first post with example. flashpanoramas.com/blog/2007/05/23/add-some-life-...
The way it is done in the multipla.tv/ example is exactly the same. Its become easy to do today when all DSLR have HD video built in so it is easy to take the video from exactly the same point. What you need to do is keeping it within the borders of a cubeface.
The Halloween example is a little different as it is made I guess with a bluescreen in studio and not at the place for the panorama. The most common use is that you put it in a TV in a hotel room panorama or similar.
The problem is of course that it may be very large in download and will take long time before it appears in the pano unless you have a fast connection. It will also easy affect the performance of the panorama on low end computers.
KRPano has had support for distorted video since 2009 and with the latest update also in HTML5.
Pano2VR does not yet have support for distorted vide but it is on the todo list.

Tourweaver also has supported video transformation via GUI since version 6 (beta) in 2010. Both .swf and .flv formats.
Tourweavwer 7 (beta) also renders your own movie timeline to .flv HD video should you wish to create a DVD or Blueray disc of your scripted tour.

In fact Panotour Pro does include a full, unlimited license of KrPano. The use of Panotour Pro as a GUI for KrPano greatly shortens the process, as you can embed the videos without having to cope with XML programming. You can still access the XML files if you wish to use KrPano to do something really special that the app doesn't support natively.

Panotour Pro is a nice GUI for Krpano, but when you are willing to spend some time learning the krpano code (which isn't to complicated), you don't really need it.
As most WYSIWYG interfaces, the results produced are working, but makes the code sometimes unnecessary complicated, which introduces difficulties when changing it by hand.
When you want to create a customized interface you'll have to learn the code anyway and with the krpano droplets you'll get a good starting point.

Beside the "standard" panorama gear, a camera which can also shoot video (1080i/1080p preferred) will do I think.
