Back from the dead

Hi All,
Forums are very addictive - so over the last few months, I've withdrawn in order to do some proper work.
One of the things I've been doing has been remastering a lot of old stuff using more modern software.
Now I've reached my first century I thought you might like to take a look:
www.360cities.net/profile/john_willetts
Click on the 'View all Panoramas' button.
I've chosen the 360 Cities platform because all I have to do is upload the equirectangular image, find the location on Google Earth and write a description. The rest is automatic. Because the panoramas are also published on Google Earth, there is a lot more exposure than one could ever have from a private website. Two things I don't like are: the name - it's too urban, should be 360 World; and the inability to sort and categorise shots within the profile page.
The other major change in my Panoramic life is the camera. I made some tests with a NEX3 in the early summer - and haven't used the D300 since. It has nearly everything I need. I've pre-ordered a NEX7 which should fill in the gaps.

G'day John,
I think your last post before now was on my Sony NEX thread some time ago www.panoguide.com/forums/qna/9130/?page=3 .John Willetts said: Thanks, Smooth, for all your patience and constructive advice. I am now awaiting delivery of the camera.
Before your postings, I had almost decided that this was the pocket camera for travel. Now, it looks as if, with only the need for one more pocket for the fisheye, I can finally ditch the backpack.
As I sometimes take very low level pans of wild flowers, the tilt screen will make composition less of a hit or miss exercise.
John So you went with the Sony? What lens are you using, the Sigma 8mm or Sunex?
Point me to a pano done with your Sony NEX.
Regards, Smooth www.omnipix.com.au

Neat! Good composition. So you just added a Nikon to NEX adapter and off you went?
There is no aperture control on the Sunex right? Fixed at f/5.6
Seems to work fine, pity about the slow delivery of 360cities and those annoying arrows and pop-over things.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi John,
Good to see you posting here. It’s a delight to go through your panoramas, finding old favorites and discovering new ones.
You haven’t lost your knack of finding wonderful compositions wherever you go.

Thanks, Judy & Smooth.
Yes, the Sunex is fixed at 5.6. It's fixed focus too which means that everything between 15" and infinity is sharp.
As long as the arrows point to my pans, I don't mind. It's only a matter of time before I fill in my gaps.

Very nice panorama John, I really like the "feel" of the image.
