Assuming there were some 100 gigapixel cameras with a wide angle lens available, this would be nothing but... well... a picture with hotspots and info.
However, I think we still have to wait a few years before such images become common with a couple of snaps of a 100 gigapixel consumer camera.
... therefore it is of moderate interest, but there is nothing in it that contains a "wow" or "ooh". I have seen gigapixel images before, and some of them have offered more visual confetti than this one.

One man's art is another man's garbage.
While I agree that gigapixel pictures have their place and can be boring, at least this one tries to add some additional value. Not every panorama needs to be spherical. At least he is doing something other than presenting a boring picture that takes forever to download.

Do you say that because you find all high res. cityscape panos boring?
Or because you find this this particular one boring?
Do you feel it could have been made in a way that you would find less boring.

Personally it's the "roof view" that I find most un-interesting. But, that's just how it's in a city, standing in a high place. What I would have liked, and what would have made me enjoy this more, would have been to link individual tours to each of the interesting places. Info link at the Eiffel tower should have contained a link to panos taken in/over/around the tower... same with the other landmarks.
Of course all of that can be worked into this project, and maybe it will be done... who knows, maybe such panos will be gigapixel sized as well (but limited to a single gigapixel each).

I happen to like it, mostly because I can appreciate the amount of time/work that went into it. I have yet to get into giga pixel but I imagine it's pretty time consuming. But I also thoroughly enjoy Hans and his comments. It was the first time I have laughed out loud today.

Hans doesn't waste his words. Straight to the point and that's it.
And on that front I still have a LOOOONG and steep learning curve.... guaranteed never to succeed.
(and I could go on and on about it... but you all know that already).

I know that's why I listen to him and respect his opinion. With Han's we at least know it's not bullshit, he says what he means.

I rank you high on the no bullshit list, right up there with Hans, though not quite as concise. But with competition like Hans what can you expect.

I think it also might be a cultural thing. As I now live in Canada, views like this do not exist for me and can be quite moving. I thought the link was great, I even liked the music selected to autoplay
Have fun Dylan

Wow, excellent! Now I want to make some GP images as well.
It will be an excellent resource for tourists and foreigners who have never been in Paris.
