MAK, You've assembled a fine collection of good quality work. I did notice that many of them are not properly levelled. It takes only seconds to level them accurately with vertical line control points. Well worth doing, I think.

Nice job indeed! I have a tiny remark though.

What I would try to change/create new ones if I were you, it would be the icons found underneath each panorama such as this:

showcase.vox360.in/web_images/icon_autodetect_act...

I have also found them on andreas kämpf's www.360-erfurt.de/content/view/26/88888898/ website and I wouldn't use them on my site (as far as it concerns graphics and not code), unless Andreas took them from you.

dear sir John,

thank for your feedback.
can you tell me which pano you are talking about which is not levelled ?
also is it not levelled by qtvr or the base pano ?

because in some pano i intentionally put down camera which shows not levelled ...

would you tell me which pano it is and how i can re arrange the level ?

These are some of my latest work i did in some hotels and few more coming up.

this link is just for my own reference purpose and not for regular website viewers.

I have made this link to post in forums to get feedback and by that way i may know my mistakes which i want to reduce in future.

i have not given much time on scripts and interface because the intention is clear to post on forum for feedback and find mistakes so i am sorry if i build a copy of something on net for reference.

thanks a lot for all who visited my link

Dear sir Mak,

I have to say I am like John allergic to bad levelled panoramas.
Perhaps except No 2 all your panos are not levelled.

And we are talking about the basic panorama.
It is very easy to do it by using a couple of vertical controlpoint.
Best in your stitch but it can also be made on the final panorama.

Here is one of yours

and here after levelling in PTGui.

Actually your panos are not just bad levelled but the bow on the pillars at the top also shows that the lens correction is not good.
You may not see it in the interactive version and they may also stitch perfect but on the pano it looks very bad.
If you make a perfect template using a panorama with vertical lines from top to bottom you will not get this problem.
And if you just make sure that the first image you take is with the panohead absolutely perfect in level and with the camera at exact same pitch and roll you could also batchstitch without manually levelling each pano in PTGui.

Hans has shown you one. This is another:

Notice that I have adjusted the tilt of the viewer to align the extreme left hand side of the building with the edge of the frame. In this position, the central part is clearly leaning over to the right. You cannot get both correct at the same time! If you get the central part nicely vertical against the right hand side of the frame and then let it autorotate over to the left side, you will see it then leans to the right at an angle of 5 degrees to the vertical - very noticeable. It should remain vertical all the way round.

It really is one of the simplest of all operations to level the panorama, and takes less than one minute provided you have some nice vertical edges to put t1 points on (and usually it's these same verticals that reveal that the panorama isn't level anyway).

thanks john and hans,
i really appreciate the feedback and guidance you post.

I have visited johnpanos tutorial and i am planning to re align or make a template for master alignment for all pano i shoot.

what would be the shooting changes i require ?

here is what i do.

i first level my tripod and camera and view and then tilt -15 degree with my nn3.
i use d300 and 10.5 nikkor lense.

then i use to stitch through ptgui and enfuse bracketd images etc

now what i should do changes to level my all panos ?

also can i level the existing stitched panos ?

The stitched panos can easily be levelled by starting a new project and adding the image with lens type equirectangular and fov 360. Add the vertical line control points as described in the tutorial, i.e. click on one end of a vertical edge in the left hand window and then click on the other end of the same edge in the right hand window. That creates one t1 point. Do the same on two other edges and then use Edit->Level Panorama on the Panorama Editor window (ctrl+shift+V) to perform the levelling. Then generate the output. It's all described in the final paragraph of the tutorial.

dear Houghton sir,

thank you very much.
finally i managed to learn and it seems i was doing a major mistake, Though people here dont know that but as technical valid output it should not have.

any ways i have started straitening the panoramas i have created, and the new output seems very perfect leveled.

Is there any other mistakes or suggestion's you can give me ?

As part of shooting and stitching and post production ?

Thank you very much again.

mak, Your DevalVR viewer option doesn't work on my PC (Win XP Home + SP3) when using IE7 browser (V7.0.5730.13). I just get a white window. I have downloaded the latest plugin. No problems when using Firefox - DevalVR works very nicely there. DevalVR works ok in IE7 when browsing other sites.

hi MAK,

Beautiful panos - but I'm more impressed by the good quality after the compression. I simply can't get anything near acceptable when compressing to say 2 MB eq images.

I opened some of them on windows and leopard both on mozilla and safari and run well.

As in many other panos there remains the problem of the mixed light, ie tungsten along daylight - you know there are no blue windows in your hotels...

Valentin

Hello atomicmack,

Watch for your reflections in the VRs. I can see your tripod legs in the Club Bath shot and I can see your camera, tripod and you in the reflection on the granite columns of the outdoor entry shot. You may wish to retouch these.
