Shark Pano!

G'day all,
I thought I would share my latest underwater challenge. This was the most difficult pano I have attempted yet. Light was so low I had to shoot at ISO 1600 f5.6 and still only achieved a shutter speed of 1/40 handheld.
Unfortunately, I did not select f5.6 until I was underwater in the aquarium and had set my hyperfocal distance for f9. The result is a little grainy, pretty soft and a long way from seamless.
However, it's one of my favourite panoramas.

Would you believe I was actually excited when that big 3m shark was heading for me. All I was thinking was that it would make a great shot.
Hope you enjoy it.
Morten

Dramatic ! I would by far not have the coolness to make tis kind of panos. Last year I did one in the tunnel - never transferred the feeling like yours !
The image coul probably be denoised with Imagenomic "noiseware Professional" which does a great job. The stitching errors ar easy to correct. So it´s a great pano Morton.

Very nice!
I think with panos, it's more about the location/content than about the "perfect" image and stitching (although we're all perfectionists and would love to have that). You captured something most of us will never do...
great job!

Thanks for the comments,
I will take some time to improve this before it goes to the client. I applied a little noise reduction. However, due to the image already being soft I was pretty conservative.
Regards,
Morten.

G'day Bernd,
Thanks for your comments. I am now on the island of Bali and hope to improve on this last pano. I am going to shoot a wreck at a place called Tulamben. It is such a different world underwater and so suited to the panoramic world.
Regards,
Morten
