The Things I Do For Money

I thought I would post this as the forum members might get a laugh out of it....
I was asked by my township to do a virtual tour nearby a water tower. They were given permission to set up a microwave communications network on the tower. They wanted to make sure they had line-of-site to their target buildings.
What they didn't tell me was that they were sending me up a ladder truck to do it!
No problem I thought....I climbed down the length of the ladder and got into this little bucket. They handed my equipment to me (it was already set up) and proceeded to elevate me 100FT in the air.
What I didn't realize was that the self-leveling bucket moved with the slightest amount of wind and god-forbid you take a single step and the bucket would really start rocking!
So I set up my tri-pod and timed my shots in-between rocks (go figure). It was a nightmare to stitch but they were happy with the results.
I would have much rather climbed up the water tower and done the tour but the powers that be wouldn't allow it.
enjoy!

Great! This method is reative in Pano shooting. I wonder if you can remove ladders to produce a special scene which looks like just seeing from half-air.

I know people who would pay money to be on top of that ladder --- with a bungie...

hehe, excellent!
Reminds me of my younger days, used to do inspections of tv antenna towers, they go up to 2000' and like the ladder basket they sway several feet at the top. Too bad I didn't do panos back then, the views were spectacular.
