What do you think of the new look?

I've asked quite a few people about the new look, and I have had some mixed responses. Do you like the colours, layout etc? I'd like to hear what you think!

Hello,
I love the new panoguide web site design.
The only thing wrong for me is that I have a big screen (1600x1200), and most of the time my browser window is over 1024 or 1280 pixels width. I prefer when the web page use all the window width instead of only 800 pixels.

I like it even if it is a rearranged version of the old one.
The appearance is good, now let's update the contents (so much happened in these three years)

Thanks ansiolitico. The site is far from "finished" - the next major thing for me to do is to add in all the products, update the features lists and reviews. I'll be starting to do this in the next few weeks.

I have written some background info about this site in the announcement yesterday

The new look is good.

I can't wait to you start updating all software reviews. They went on there one at a time last time. It wont take long...

The design is nice. A little on the simple side but that isn't always bad. The only thing that I don't like is that it occupies just 1/2 my screen (1600x1200) but this has been mentioned.

The look is a little linear yet simple and clean. The site could be faster as often I find my browser waiting for the valueclick ad to be delivered.

James: congrats, you have certainly put a lot of hard work into the site. Colors work well, like the white background. Gallery is really a very nice way to go with choices to cover all alternatives. Just let it grow and flow from here. I am a newby, just starting to develop my own site. Best, CEC

Probably a "what's new" section would help us to follow the evolution of your site.

In Internet Explorer menu, going to Display then Text Size and selecting some font size from Largest to Smallest works, and that's fine ! (most Websites are such that this don't work)

I'm behind this two eyes viewfinder...

My panoramas are there: www.pbase.com/gurl

I translated PTAssembler tutorial and help in French and wrote a tutorial about perspective. They are there: www.afric-impact.org/perso-coldfusion/gurl/index....

I tested the links: they work. If you can read this sentence the Edit button works, too! (a nice forum feature).
Conclusion: promising new site

Hello,

just my two cents ...

I like the technologie behind the new site! smile

For myself, with the new colors, the sites look to cold. I liked the old colors more. Maybe, I'm only to used to your old layout, but there are just so many websites in blue/white ...
If you consider to integrate a style-switcher and a stylesheet with the old colors, the users can choose on their own.

Normaly, I use 1024x768 resolution. In the gallery, i get a bright white border on the right side. For that, dark areas in the pictures and panoramas aren't visible as good as it could be. In my opinion, a more medium grey background would be better.

Tested OK with:
Opera 7.23, Mozilla 1.6, Netscape 6.2, Internet Explorer 5.0 SP2, Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1.

Even useable on Netscape 4.78! (looks a bit odd)

The tables are a bit confusing on Lynx (text browser)

regards, T.Rist

Adding this forum is a really great thing.
The previous site was a big help to me, figuring things out.
