Full screen spherical pano ?
Posted: 26 Mar 2007 at 6:40 GMT
Hi all !

I'm new in here and just uploaded my first 360x180 pano at www.panoguide.com/gallery/172/ ! It only displays in a small screen and i haven't found HOW to do to get it displayed full screen...

Any tips ?

TIA,
J-P.

try using this > www.qtbridge.com/pleinpot/pleinpot.html

Do note that for full screen optimal will be something like 5000 x 2500 sized equirectangular pic (tif/jpg) when you are exporting into a QTVR as it may look ok on say a 15 or 17/19 incher but any bigger, it will look pixelated.

Thanks for the quick answer ! ...but i guess i didn't explain exactly what i wanted to know:

What do i have to do IN PANOGUIDE "upload page " page to have the "full page" option working !

I only have the "click to view: window ~300Kb" option, but not the "click to view: window ~300Kb | fullscreen ~1Mb" options !

Hope now it's clearer ?

Cheers,
J-P.

Hi Jean-Pierre,

Sorry the FAQs do not mention this - you need to make sure you upload a high resolution image for full screen. The site automatically disables the full-screen option if the image is likely to look too pixelated.

I'll double check the settings later today.

James.

The link to view a panorama full-screen is disabled on panoguide if your panorama is less than 2500 pixels wide, this is because a low resolution panorama blown up full screen on the average (1024x768 or greater) screen will just look grainy and poor quality.

I will update the Gallery FAQ and other pages to make this clearer when I have a few mins!

Even a panorama of the maximum allowed dimensions (3000x1500) isn't really enough for a good fullscreen display. It seems a pity that a larger image cannot be submitted when it conforms to the file size limit imposed.
