Nice little website design available

I have just completed a nice little website for a customer who changed his mind so much that the end result is terribly different.

I have made the original design (which I love) available for sale, since it would be a shame to scrap it:

tactus360.com/site

This particular site is in two languages, is coded with lightbox for both panoramas and images. All code and css is W3C validated and is stongly written, making it difficult to break. (Please note that this is not a WordPress or Joomla site; as a result, it is smaller and much quicker loading.)

The site will come with:

A header psd to enable you to develop your own header images

I will sort out the menu system to suit your needs

Colours and fonts changeable.

For an extra fee, I can set up an online WYSIWYG editing program, allowing for easy text/picture alteration, add a sidebar navigation, etc.

Reasonable offers considered.

PM me if interested.

Sold!

I am quite amazed. But I will leave it here a little longer, since I can do variants . . .

Oddly, I have sold a several variations on this website in the last week, and have decided to offer variations on it for commercial sale on a regular basis.

The price, ready to go, which includes

Finished headers,
All scripts in place and ready to upload
A cascading style sheet with simple instructions on how to change it
Tailored navigation in up to two languages

Price 275 USD

I can also add my WYSIWYG editor for a further 100 USD, allowing users not to have to worry about learning html programming.

All pages are XHTML and CSS validated.

Turn around: One week from receiving payment to finialising the site.

Any interested parties should contact me at jon@tactus360.com

I'm amazed, as you can get similar templates from wordpress, with full CMS behind it for free. Fair play though.

Anyone with the slightest knowledge of websites, and how such open source projects as WordPress work, would never make such a trite and potentially damaging comment.

I thought the Irish were a little more charitable and intelligent than that.

Sorry Jon, i'm not denying that the site looks, and works great, but you may get even more orders by outlining the advantages your site design has over such an option as wordpress for example. I agree, wordpress has it's limitations but there are many, many advantages to such open source software.

As you're selling a template, i'm guessing some people will be wondering what they will be getting for their money, rather than opting for another template site they could get for considerably less.

Good luck with the sites, if they all look as good as the example shown above, i'm sure the new owners will be very pleased.

Too late was the cry.

Interesting that you made this after you made a response to me on another thread.

Interesting also that, since you put your boot in, I have had five retractions on purchases.

I put that down to you and I think you have done this purely out of some sinister and malicious spite.

What a nice man you must be.

Jon, if that one post has cost you 5 customers for this, then all I can say is that you need to look at what you offered a little more closely.

I responded with a much longer post about your offer, although I don't want you to get even more upset than you are.

Oh come on Jon, lighten up a little. I nearly coughed up my well deserved glass of wine tonight when I read the price of the template. Admittedly, my knowledge of htlm, css, php, wordpress, sql or whatever, could accurately be described as sketchy at best, (come to think of it, maybe a good reason why I drive buses for a living) but I do host and run several web sites for various local clubs & people etc and aye, I have even run off a template or two in my time. As you well know, I have a great deal of respect for you and do not doubt your intelligence, but come on, dont insult "a wee Glesga bus driver" you are taking the mickey?

Jon,

Don't get angry at me but why not roll the site template you have into a WordPress theme then? It seems that if you had gotten orders for it, then people must like the looks of it no? There are many folks out there selling "premium" themes for WordPress for very reasonable prices. Why not do something like that then?

You would then be able to concentrate on the theme only and take advantage of the huge WordPress user base and the hundreds of developers that keep the back-end up to date and secure.

From looking at the structure and looks of the template you posted, you should be able to replicate it as a WordPress theme. As far as the speed issues etc you mentioned, WordPress has cache plugins that can distill all of that stuff into static HTML, CSS, Javascript etc and just fly it down the pipe to the browser. And even faster if you have Apache directives turned on for compression.

Bradford is right, then simply post it on themeforest.net and you will get both Panoguide users and a much bigger audience from the theme forest folks.

jon,

You really seem to have a short fuse! I've been following these forums for a while and although I admire your work, lighten up! I agree with Mr. vr about wordpress and the like. But, hey...you yourself are a pretty hard critic, so any little critic towards your work should not be taken as harsh...

Cheer up brother!
