Introducing www.papiromundi.com
Posted: 12 Aug 2010 at 14:18 GMT
Hello,

We would like to submit www.papiromundi.com

Papiromundi converts panoramic images in a PDF file ready to print and assemble in the shape of a sphere. On the web you can see examples or use the converter to create models from your own equirectangular images.

We appreciate your comments.

I am certain it is lovely, but where is the engine?

All I can see are descriptions of the service and examples. How do we try this?

Ah. The mouse didn't change, or doesn't, which makes the flash uploader look just like an image.

I am not that interested, but I might try it out!

That looks like a fun thing to do. The hard part is finding a sphere to glue the orange peel slices to.

You would have a real winner if you sold the spheres and the mount to put the spheres on.

First of all thanks everyone for your feedback.

One of the system advantages is that you don't need to glue the slices. Visit the instructions page (now with pictures) www.papiromundi.com/en/content/instructions and you will see how this works.

We are looking for partners to offer printing systems, by now is a do it yourself job.

The thing is -- people like me are really lazy. I can handle printing and maybe cutting but after that, all the little fussing around gets irritating.

Make a nice plastic sphere that opens up so that you can put the printed orange slices in that has a nice stand and then one could change the image easily. Just my .02...
